Watch Part 1: • Malik Yoba on Upcoming...
-------------
In this clip, Malik Yoba speaks on growing up on the Eastside of Harlem during the crack and heroin era of the 1970s and '80s. He recalls his father helping care for addicts as an x-ray technician, while noting that he worked out of a basement of a building that was used for a scene in New Jack City. Later on, he mentions that he grew up with Dame Dash and Jim Jones as neighbors with Black Rob down the block.
Elsewhere in the clip, he reflected on crossing paths with Azie Faison and Alpo, notable drug dealers who the movie Paid in Full was based on. With that said, he noted that he didn't personally know either of them. Later on, he also revealed that despite his father vowing to keep his kids out of the streets, he did at one point work for a few hustlers in the city.

THIS! Everybody who grew up around this and the energy within a 20 radius didnt always have to fall victim as some had parents who would kill us if they knew. Hov's Mom aint know how deep he was doing shit out there along with a few others plus everyone wasnt built for what came with it no matter how younger folk glorified certain things in retrospect. Now seeing, hearing and feeling the energy was another thing which is what Vlad seems to be trying to get a grasp off through all this I guess.

@@mstate_ Y'all seriously need to chill with that shit. He does not only focus on black gangsters. There's plenty of Italians that grew up in New York and working-class families and lived a straight life but no one gives a fuck about that. It's not interesting and you know it. Why the fuck would we want to hear about somebody going to college and becoming a doctor. Vlad specifically only interviews Italians that were in the mafia because that is what the viewer wants to hear about. So this has nothing to do with him being a cultural vulture or a racist. This is just him providing what the viewers want to see.

He speaks on legendary hip-hop staples and Vlad wants to know about crack. FOH . A lot of us live or lived around that shyt. This man is worth more then dope questions. Leave that to the gangsters you exploit. Malik is a talented brotha and I learned nothing about that. He has a story there too if you ask realer questions. I just knew you would have something. My bad for the over estimation on this one.

Vlad has officially ran out of Topics. Lost his Mojo and in dire need of a vacation. The Crack Era.. its all kinds of other things going on in that era. Watch Kev Mac Videos and Learn the trade. Like Angelo Dundee told Sugar Ray... "You're Blowing it @djvlad." I know your interview skills are tighter than this.
