This is really interesting to see what Mallory was like many years before I was born. My Father is from leicestershire and went here very often when he was younger, but has no photographic or video record of it, so it's very interesting to see just how much it's changed. Nice footage too, of course.

Great film and the soundtrack is wonderful. Clubmans were two-seaters and very hairy indeed! Thanks for posting.

Great footage. I was just 6 when this was filmed. Can't believe how much lack of safety awareness existed around race tracks back then. Marshals crossing the track and pushing the damaged cars off the course with live racing going on. Well men were men in those days and I take my hat off to em.

I was 11 when you filmed this and I have many fond memories of Mallory Park which was a regular venue for us only living an hour away so thanks for the memories you have brought back with this film. A bit earlier in May 1970 I saw Formula 5000 at the circuit, I wish that was also available on film as it must have been phenomenal.

@roydpg - I've been watching your films for years and it is like reliving my youth. Somehow I've never seen this one and it's brilliant, especially with Mr. Nasty Dave Brodie winning in the Escort. He was the Verstappen of Group 2 Saloons :-) Thanks again.

Thanks Graham. I lived in Italy at the time and didn’t know who David was, in the paddock I was attracted to the Frank Williams sticker. I soon found out! It’s only recently by looking at the excellent documentary Williams that I’ve discovered how close Dave and Frank where

Great footage, what camera was used to film it? I remember watching bike racing on this track, that adverse camber going onto the start line caused a few mishaps...Thanks for taking me back to the good old days......Regards Chris.

I always thought your dads accident was at the end of the norwich straight at snetterten.I think your dads tiger was left hand drive,at the time I had a road tiger. When me an your dad drove down hollaway road he would point out a Roote,s main dealer garage that he said had the wreakage of his car.I can,t remember the name of the dealer but it was a racer owned it at that time.Glad your dads ok give him my best,I only found this post by accident today, put your dads name in after all these years.
