Thank you, Misty! I watched your video last night and all I could think of was... I need to go check this place out ASAP. I was on a mission this morning... I bought each one of there pies (Chowder, Butter Chicken Curry, Mince Cheese and Bacon & Cheese). OMG... So frickin delicious!!! I told the woman at the counter (owner) I was here because of Food Fiend. The owner said I was the 2nd customer that came in telling her they were here because of your video. 😄 When I was leaving the owner began watching your video review. 😉 Thank you again, Misty for your excellent review. 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙 (5 shaka points)

Couple of tips , keep it in the bag , eat it out of the bag , less messy , If you want a pie that is less messy try a Bacon & Egg , also all the pies can be eaten COLD , but mostly Hot , Use Tomato sauce on the Beef type , mince or steak , also its very normal to have a cold Bacon & Egg pie for summer picnic . When we eat in car while driving , a Bacon & Egg is good choice as they hold together a bit better and just less messy .

Another great review! I didn't know we had New Zealand food here and its coming from New Zealanders:) I like that its flaky dough and creamy meat inside😋 And that suggestion for the store will help. I remember I couldn't find Aloha Mamacita's and their sign helped. With a banner and this video, I'm sure more traffic will come there way. Aloha Misty🤙

I love this place. I did a review on them before they closed sooo good but I do agree a bit messy. I love the meat pies at PCC too theirs is like a croissant but a good vessel for keeping the filling inside. I attempted to make these one time and i got the basic biscuit in the pop tubes and lined a cupcake tin on the bottom, filled them and then i got the flakey biscuit and flattened it for the top of the pie. Basted it with butter and eggwash and it came out pretty good.

@@FoodFiend Our tomato sauce is like your ketchup , that’s what it’s called here. You nailed the description when eating your pie ! Here in Australia, we just just refer to all Pies as “Let’s have a Pie” when you get to the bakery then you choose your pie. They rarely get called mince here. It’s always a Meat Pie, Then the selection process , Lol ,,, Depends on the Bakery about what they make.. The high price would be about $7.50 AUD here for something a bit gourmet. Average pricing is $4 to $6 AUD but I do have a favourite place on the way to our BlueMountains in Blaxland ,, their standard meat pie has chunky beef and thick gravy for $3.50 AUD , it’s a treat every time I head up that way for work. And the guy does great coffee. By the way , if you ask 20 Aussies there favourite meat pies , you will get 20 different answers ..Lol. One day when you do come to our great Aussie land I hope you enjoy it. Your American dollar is strong at the moment, you would get $1.54 for $1 USD and it’s only a 10 hour direct flight ! A $6 pie here would be $3.85 usd 🤙

@@RodSwansmad oh my goodness! The ketchup and gravy! It's kind of like a loco moco without the rice and egg. 🤣 sounds so good! And for that price it can't be beat. I've always wanted to go to Australia but I'll have to look into getting a visa. Strange that we have to do that but learned the hard way when my friend went there for her honeymoon and was turned around to go back home. She didn't do her research.
@RodSwansmad
@RodSwansmad Жыл бұрын
@@FoodFiend oh no, heart breaking not allowed to enter our country , Yep need to do research.. For us to enter the USA , there is an online system called ESTA , I think it costs $15 usd. Once filled out , it takes up to 12 days to get approved, and last for 3 years. (During the 3 year period we can come and go as many times as we want) But we can only stay no more then 30 days at a time , if we need longer it’s a different process to get approval. Part of the process entering the USA , our passport must have a min 6 months validation. We also get fingerprinted at point of entry. To enter Australia I’m sure there is an easy process for Americans, we would have an agreement with an easy visa application.
@RodSwansmad
@RodSwansmad Жыл бұрын
@@FoodFiend I did some checking , for you to enter Australia , it can done online through anApp , It says to get the ETA app, and guides you through a step by step process, once approved (can take up to 12 hours) your visa is valid for 12 months and can stay up to 3 months.

I just wish there were more ways to support these businesses because I'm living in NorCal and can't travel due to stage 4 cancer treatment. I watch Misty's videos as a way of giving myself something to look forward to so when I get well enough to travel I can spend all my money eating my way through nostalgic memories of home. Hawaii is the ultimate foodie destination because we don't have to drive all over bum f*cking Egypt to try different parts the world has to offer.
