Valentine's Day weekend wasn't exactly what Mama Red had in mind... I noticed her slow to move late last week, and upon further investigation saw that her teat looked bitten.
Up until editing this video, I swore it was the lambs...
But now I'm wondering if perhaps it was a touch of frost bite?
hmmmm.
Also keeping up with hoof trimming with the next group of ewes, trying my hand at Wordle, and once again thawing some waterbowls.

Barter system we use it about 75% of the time at farm. Uncle will plow for elderly neighbor who has pasture land that we rent. Neighbor across the creek from us has a apiary (bee hives) she needs hive boxes built we get 1 lb can of fresh honey every 6 months. I bake for some of the elderly neighbors that enjoy a good snickerdoodle cookies. Bartering and farming go ✋ in ✋..

my grandpa became a 24/7 need-of-supervision dementia patient at the beginning of this month. i spend three hours there every day while we wait for a nursing home spot to open up, and it's been really rough some days. your uploads happen in the evenings for me, and they've been such a welcome distraction and helped me unwind at the end of the day. thank you so much for sharing your life and work online and offering those of us who need it some much appreciated distraction

@@susannorton1120 yeah. Grandma died of a broken heart really. After my grandfather passed away in November 2020 she stopped taking care of herself. She ended up getting an infection and just didn't tell anyone until it was too late. She missed grandpa. Papa passed from old age. Grandma 1 year and 3 months later from an infection she refused to tell anyone about. So really just a broken heart. We have her funeral tomorrow. 😔

I’m sure you know this but when I’m having a hard time your videos always put a smile on my face and I can “forget” the pain I’m in physically (rare chronic illness) . I’m sure that goes for many people as well, whether it’s pain, mental struggles, just a bad day, etc. Your vulnerability in these videos are truly amazing and so authentic. Thank you for all that you do! PS. I hope Red’s mom starts to feel better ASAP!

Try # Don't punish pain rally on Facebook look for the Canada site . Or the American pain and disability foundation website. Both groups are advocates for patients who have chronic pain for any reason or disease. If you need help finding a doctor or in the hospital and your pain isn't being treated they will advocate for you even if you are hospitalized. No charge ever. Please look into these groups and read the articles and comments. I hope you have pain relief soon.

Your sheep are hilarious. My one mature ewe lambed 2 ram lambs, yesterday. New borns will come to whoever, as you know, so despite mama being hella skittish, I got to cuddle them both. Will probably be the only time I can get near them.

There's nothing like the sight of an incredibly plump sheep that's flipped harmlessly on it's back, with all fours slightly smushed closer to each other as they stick perfectly straight up to the skies above. Lol that is one hilarious view. And surprisingly enough, there's something quite endearing about it as well. Sandy's inherent consideration and her unwaveringly caring approach definitely has something to do with that. She cares deeply about the well-being of these animals, and it shows. I’ve been following you for awhile. I actually went back and watched all the old video first. Just from watching your sheep I have a much clearer idea of the word sheeple. It’s hysterical to watch these sheep. One will start one and they all follow and it only takes one of then to turn around and they all do😂🤣🤣😂 The other thing I learned is I will never ever get enough of the littles jumping and running around. If I’m having a bad day I just watch one of the videos with the littles on it

YES!!! Please keep the Billy girl twins. Since we don't see as much shipping and weighing anymore, I wondered about them. Glad to see they are still there. I understand that its a pain, and you will do what is best for your farm. But hopefully you can find a place for them, and it works out.
