FABULOUS recipe! I will definitely incorporate making the stock as the essence to my very first sancocho. Brilliant idea. My mom is gone, but luckily you were there to give me great details. (I miss her authentic Puerto Rican cooking.) Thank you Master Chef Rodriguez for your time. Nice to see Ibrahim on the video, may he rest in peace. Be well. God bless.

caldero was a bit too small indeed and the sancocho looked a bit too thick for my taste. Let it sit a little and you are gonna be left with a pot of chunks of platanos and other vegetables and no stock because sancocho thickens and sort of dries as it cools down. His technique is good though, it looks delicious. I am gonna try it but with a bit of more stock in it. Thank you.

@ Mary Gomez, you r out of ur mind. That is an authentic Puerto Rican recipe. Dominicans always copy or substitute our recipes because they are awesome. No offense, but how old r u? It's Puerto Rican.
@Latindyva
@Latindyva 9 жыл бұрын
Dimencia528i: Sweetheart, no offense here either, but Sancocho is an original Dominican recipe. Dominicans don't copy anything, we have too many, too many, great recipes to copy yours. If you taste a Dominican Sancocho, you will know what a Sancocho really is.

@MARY GOMEZ: Stop shouting como una bruja selosa! Puertoricans have grown up eating sancocho also. Rice, beans, all of it are interchangeable among the Latino-caribbean population. So, relajate mujer.

Oh stop the b/s with the Sancocho ~ Sancocho from the Spanish verb Sancohar to "parboil" is a traditional soup often consider a stew the recipe belongs to the Spanish caribbean ~Latin America cusine derive from the spanish dish known as cocido Variation represent popular national dishes in Canary Island, Puerto Rico, Honduras, Mexico, Ecuador ,Columbia, Panama, Peru, Dominican Republican and Venezuela and stews such as the Corsica, Irish, Danish, Germans, and Italian versions and Bouillon in Haiti , Pot au feu in France, is usually consist of large pieces of meat, tubers and vegetables served in broth, but it's true origin is from the Canary Island Not from Puerto Rico or Dominican Republic! we just spice it up and gave it our own flavor and so did many of the other island so let's do a little research and know the history before we speak. "Remember we are a mix breed of races!" everything that we know in our culture was handed down through the generation of our ancestor of different cultures.
