Man, I have been trying to get this darn thing to work and have had zero success. Your video was quick, simple and to the point. I think the options and stuff look a little different since I'm sure MAME has been updated a few times since you uploaded this but FINALLY the game booted up. I've subbed to your channel and I really appreciate you putting this together for tech ignorant asses like myself. Now I just have to see if I can get my old PS4 controller to link up with Mame and I'll be good to go.

There are a lot of versions of MAME. Unfortunately this version of mame does not work with a lot of games that do work with other mame versions. for instance all neogeo titles were removed and some others. The mame version that runs a ton of games are usually mameplus from around 2009 - 2011

I am trying to play Arcade version of Tekken Tag, and i remember playing it without problems back in the day like 8-10 years ago. but now when i tried it again for a nostalgia trip, I just cant make it work with the latest versions. it tells me im missing some roms. so which one do you recommend?

I did everything but i cant get games work, theres a red error screen that tells me im missing some ROMs a shame because I remember making it work and playing Arcade Tekken Tag like 8-10 years ago. too bad I forgot how i made it work

Great tutorial!!! I have Mame 0.230 version installed on windows 11. I'd like to not be forced having to use the keyboard "Esc" key to end a game; so to return to the available game's menu. Any suggestions how to assign a loaded game's "exit" on a controller? Thanks 😃

Not totally accurate. You never showed where you got the roms. That's the issue most people struggle with.

Well I installed newest Mame 0.260 added a rom, it worked perfectly except keyboard wouldn't work everything needed to drive car, so tried adding more games same way & they don't show in available list like 1st rom did, there's no refresh so couldn't use it, there's no option to change from verify rom to only existing, so I've no idea what issue is...on my old XP I had older version that I setup with no issues & worked flawlessly...

I had a problem. When starting Mame it would run for a couple seconds,flash something in command mode them exit Mame. I had to create a config.ini file for Mame. From dose prompt type the entire path to the folder that Mame.exe is in. Example C:\mypc\desktop\mame -cc then hit enter. You may have to search for the new config.ini file if it doesn't appear in your Mame folder. Mine was in documents folder.
