FILM DESCRIPTION:
In 1979 young Donna, Tanya and Rosie graduate from Oxford University -- leaving Donna free to embark on a series of adventures throughout Europe. On her journeys, she makes the acquaintances of Harry, Bill and Sam -- the latter whom she falls in love with, but he's also the man who breaks her heart. In the present day, Donna's pregnant daughter, Sophie, dreams of renovating a taverna while reuniting with her mother's old friends and boyfriends on the Greek island of Kalokairi.

Lily James said in a press conference that she aspired to be as fearless and uninhibited as Meryl Streep was in the first movie; she watched it over and over to be able to portray Donna with that fearlessness. I hadn't heard that when I first saw that movie, but I already felt that's exactly what made her performance so wonderful. Lily said she'd never felt so empowered as when she began rehearsing, dancing and singing with Jessica and Alexa. The 3 of them rocked this. Gorgeous.

I personally think young Tania and Rosie were a little too forced trying to mimic their characters in the film. Lily had the honesty and wisdom to interpret Donna but there's still something missing for me. Again, this is just my opinion and I don't want to disrespect any of them.

I think that is the imagination of the story telling. For example there is the scene of Sam and Sophie and Sam has a photo album of young Donna and she is exactly Lily James. I don't think it's the imagination of Sophie

How good that they chose Lily to fill this role because they couldn't have found anyone better than her. Her strength can be seen in each and every scene and she really deserves much more than this. I got to know Lily James by watching the Cinderella and I have to say that since it came out, that movie is my favorite live action from Disney, and now that I saw her again in Mamma Mia, I have to say that this woman is really talented and amazing.

I love Lily James very much. I think she did this perfect. For me, she is so underrated, because doing a Meryl Streep role and doing like she did is quite hard, no one has been able to "replace Meryl Streep" and for me, she did it amazing in this movie. I love you Lily and I hope one day you'll become one of most sucesfull actress, you deserve it
