Lyrics:
You’re not who I thought I’d be I’d love to see you try
I’m losing every part of me
It’s spreading to your smile
Drowning slowly
Now you’re on display Cold and lonely
Right in your own way
Hey
Beat me up like a pastime Hey
Bring me up to the downside Let me down tonight
Say
what you feel on the inside
Say
what you want for the last time
Let me down tonight
There’s more than just one end to this
I’ve known it for awhile
There’s more than just one thing to miss
I’ll turn my back and smile
Soft and slowly
Tell me what you want I’m through talking
What you running from?

Knowing Wolf is EVH's kid, I don't think it surprises many that he's so talented. What just blows my mind each time I listen to a new track is the immense originality dripping from each cut. This guy is literally standing in the shadows of giants and has 0 problems forging his own path with his own sound. Keep doing, kid. You're saving rock.

I think you're being a little over-generous. The guy is talented, but his style is very derivative. It sounds like any number of bands from 20 or 25 years ago. He'd have been huge then. His stuff is solid, but it's all been heard before. He has yet to really do anything truly original. I hope he does, though.

@@e.l.norton his stuff gives me powt grunge vibes tbh. Like early 2000s stuff. But i honestly think that it's pretty original because he makes it his own

Mammoth WVH is my favorite ongoing artist, period. This makes 20 songs from him, and there has yet to be a single bad, or even mediocre song. I especially like the vocals on this one. He's improving, and he was already awesome before.

I love the theme he has with lots of his lyrics. F#|#*ing awesome WVH !! I grew up playing your fathers music.& for a slam in rock bassist who plays with a pick, there was no better music that I liked to play. Then I heard your music. I got goosebumps all over again. if I had a genie in a bottle the first thing, and only thing I would ask for would be ,to be your bass player lol.. you keep rockin the world, and keep that great smile on your face. You are very blessed with talent and opportunity and I know you will make the best of it . . Best wishes . Jerry Paul.

Eddie van Halen, was one of the most influential guitar heroes in rock and metal. His son Wolfgang decided long ago to embark on a musical journey too which included with the formation of Mammoth WVH and while it’d be unfair to compare Wolfie to his old man (different times, different circumstances), what’s not in doubt is that the Van Halen’s basically bagged all the talent genes. The successful Mammoth WVH debut was launched in June 2021 and after having been on a tour as support act for Alter Bridge, Wolfgang announced the important second record called “Mammoth II”. Recorded at the famous 5150 Studio and with Michael Baskette at the helm, the new Mammoth WVH album shines brightly. A total of ten songs reflects the greatness of rock music which is perfectly interpreted by the multi-instrumentalist. As on the debut, the new longplayer is a one-man project too. The Wolf played all instruments as well as he is the songwriter and singer and has established a sound that he’s clearly comfortable with as he seamlessly blends melodic hard rock with an alternative nineties influence, and for the most part has a great knack for writing one hell of a catchy tune. These are insanely tight, bodybuilder-sculpted rock songs, and while the mainman dresses each in his six-string wizardry it’s all commendably contained. For album number two at least, he doesn’t appear to lean too far from his comfort zone, the album opening with a crunching riff on “Right” and a strong vocal delivery. Wolfgang shows virtuoso guitar playing on the solo, which shines again on “Take a Bow” which features a sublime instrumental section and a solo with a section of insane finger tapping that sounds as if it was ripped straight from his father’s hands. The production and sound of the record is absolutely spot on throughout, and the mix of tremolo guitar picking and a sumptuous rolling bassline blend perfectly on “Like A Pastime”. “Another Celebration at the End of the World” has a nice percussive opening with stabbing guitars and proves to be a quality bit of rock, up-tempo and incredibly well executed by the versatile musician. It’s when Wolfgang flirts with the heavier side within him that for me the album flourishes, none less so than on the excellent “Optimist” which provides the album’s darkest tone. “Miles Above Me” and “Erase Me” are also among the superior songs, and while the immense production cannot help but impress, it also stifles those hooks from hitting any emotional buttons. There is no shortage of creativity here, with “Mammoth II” being an excellently crafted rock album that strengthens the musician’s own identity. This album confirms to me at least, that Mammoth WVH has much more to offer than just a big name. Enjoy Jim
