Lyrics:
Lookin' for another reason
Lookin' for a little bit of anything
Oh give me something to believe in
A little nothing just to get me by now
Hey baby
your eyes 'll always give it away
Yeah baby
I'Il carry you to another day
We're on the right track now
You're every sight and sound
A kiss, a casket, and all our rights and wrongs
We're gonna take it back somehow
Now we're all alone
through blood and bone
You're all I want somehow but
Now it's all our own
so don't lose hope
I think it's time we take the throne
I think we made another mistake
How many more can we take?
Hear what you're saying but it's fake
I had it coming it was written there all over your face
Hey baby
Your life will always follow in tow
Yeah baby
You know it's just another celebration at the end of the world
We're on the right track now
You're every sight and sound
A kiss, a casket, and all our rights and wrongs
We're gonna take it back somehow

As an old guy from the original VH days, I'm so proud to see Wolf do his own thing in his own way. He's not trying to be Eddie 2.0. Loving how he incorporates some techniques from his dad, but he's not ripping him off. Total respect for him! Keep rocking it Bro!

He hasn’t tried to cash in on his name?!! If I recall correctly, the name Mammoth was used by an early incarnation of Van Halen. Secondly, he uses WVH in the band name??? If that isn’t LITERALLY using his name to cash in I don’t know what is… the first music video he made was home movies with EVH in them. I understand that the song was a tribute to his father, but again- still a cash grab.

@@vicchaos-pz2ok He's not a "VH" clone - to assume he wouldn't use his actual name is ridiculous. Better tell Winger, Rudy Axel Pell, Michael Schenker, Alice Cooper, and a host of others that apparently real names are out of bounds. Or does that only apply to people who started off with a famous lineage, like Tal Bachman or Julian Lennon? ....and using the "Mammoth" is a fitting tribute to his family. How many casual listeners would have made the name connection? Would it be better if he called it "Rat Salad WVH", then only the hardcore fanbois would catch the reference... If his music was marginal, this would be a cash grab...but this stuff is awesome!! Wolfgang's material holds up on its own...that's what i mean by "he's not riding coat tails". No one is "pity listening" to Mammoth WVH - they listen because he's kicking ass!!!

What’s not to love about this video?!? Wolfie writes an album, plays all the instruments, then fires himself on every instrument save for lead guitar. The video takes me back to the 80’s when videos were fun to watch. The song could easily get radio play in any decade from the 80’s to today. WVH has found the perfect balance of hard, classic and contemporary rock. I give it a 10.

I agree 100%. AS I commented above, caught Mammoth in Chicago with Alter Bridge - the crowd response for Wolf was absolutely insane. After every song, the reaction was full and sustained...like for 30+ seconds people were cheering and screaming and pumping fists in the air. Wolf would look like he was about to start the next tune, and then would hesitate for just a second, like "holy crap, are they *still* cheering?" and get this look on his face of utter disbelief. He'd take a step back from the mic, look over to one of the other guys like "can you believe this?". His writing/song structure is really great. He builds tension, he works towards a "release" point, he has great "hooks". It's not cookie cutter at all. You can hear true emotion and expression. Looking forward to the next 20 years.

Saw Mammoth in Chicago opening for Alter Bridge in March - Wolf was an absolute class act. He was so blown away by the crowd reaction - after every song, the crowd was just freaking out, and it kept overwhelming him. He'd step back from the mic, with that look like "are these guys STILL cheering...for ME?" This tune I maybe hear a touch of "Foo Fighters" phrasing and structure. Love the building of tension. LOVED the solo. (notice during the "hits" during the solo, with the flash of each other band member, mimicking how Wolf found them - lead player has the Guitar Hero guitar, rhythm player has the broom, bass player is eating pizza, drummer has the battle of the bands trophy...). Whoever says "he's riding the coattails of Van Halen..." can't have listened to a single song on the debut album. Other than the last two notes of "Don't Back Down" (in a great homage to "So This Is Love") I don't hear Van Halen *at all*. I hear this talented young man, who has so much to say...and I literally can't wait to hear how he chooses to say it. And....he is *putting in the hard work*. Touring. Opening for different bands, cultivating interest across multiple genres of rock. Keep it up, Wolf.

It would be impossible to do a live performance solo, and Wolf knows it. Sure, he could just release albums... but fans would soon become restless wanting that live performance more and more. A full scale riot would ensue, and everybody's world is turned inside out. Okay, maybe not all of THAT would happen. But, we all get the picture. Definitely an accurate assessment of this video

@Mitchell Davis obviously thats a big word so I said it more like a meme than seriously, but what I'm really saying is there's deep meaning in what he's doing in the video. And he was able to also make it entertaining while doing it. To me it's basically like he was saying Hey, if I'm gonna take this to the next level I need help. I need to find some pros at these positions so that I'm not spread so thin trying to do it all myself. And so we can expand and have more creative input. And do shows. And who knows, maybe he's had similar thoughts about himself in the past and that's why he used those words as he replaced his bandmates. Could be a deep down self esteem thing, in part. Idk But at the end of the day he found a creative way to script it all into a music video. Instead of just doing it at a party on a beach with titties everywhere (which would have been cool too lol)

Thank you and congratulations on the well deserved success. As a 53 year old man that was living and working in Hollywood for SIR in the 80s, I was privileged enough to see Van Halen and everyone that followed play and Van Halen were about to change rock and roll. Enter Wolfe. Round 2. .Your family is like the gift that keeps on giving. Don't listen to anyone or anything other that your heart. You are one of the greats on so many levels. This is an era of music written BY computers. Im talking about music that is solely made by AI. Not a person writing music on a computer. Autotuned vocals. An era where you dont need talent to create music. As long as Im alive, Ill never stop playing guitar. Esp because these dumbed down, swipe right tic tok dummies dont have an attention span. They love music made for people who dont like music. They are here today, gone tomorrow.

I've been playing guitar probably more than most of the commenters have been alive. I saw Van Halen on their first tour in Denver in 1978. Being a judgy prick, when I saw "Wolfie" playing with Van Halen, I thought he was just a novelty due to his famous dad. Fast forward many years and this video popped up during a KZfaq binge. I sarcastically thought, "Oh this should be fun." Time to admit I was a judgy prick 100%. This kid is fucking amazing!! There is something about the groove of this song that just grabbed me. I retired from professional playing in 2016 for personal reasons, and never picked up a guitar again. After watching the video, I pulled out the PRS, dusted on the Boogie, and learned this song, just for fun. I haven't learned a song for fun since I was in my 20s (think 1980s). I love the new generation of musicians coming up and appreciate what they can do. I had always wanted to meet Eddie because he was my guitar hero growing up. I had a couple of opportunities in the 90s but other priorities prevailed. After listening to Wolf talk about his dad in interviews, I can clearly see I missed an opportunity to meet not only a great musician, but a great father. Keep up the great work Wolf!!!!! You are making yourself and your dad proud!!! The legacy continues. However, you are absolutely your own musician. Keep that groove.
