Part 2 of our Mamod FE1 Live steam Fire Engine series. Join us as we walk you through step by step the firing and running process of this amazing Live steam model from Mamod, all the way through to a full demonstrate of the model in action in both a static desk test and
running outside.
Unfortunately the outdoor run was is cold weather over bumpy ground, but we will be back with a full running video over smoother ground soon.
Unlike our Mamod SR1, this model features a few updates, including the use of fuel tablets instead of methylated spirits.

I got the same model and I do find the burner a lot fiddlly I'm going to come up witha better way, so wish me luck 🙏 also I can see you can get a remote. So for this I'm getting a cheap RC car remote Stiring function and add it hopefully all works it does in My head. But I'll see and if doesn't life goes on.

Good video but you didn't show the essential lubrication of the oscillating cylinder/ piston assembly . Also important to mention that using steam oil only on those parts is essential for good running.

Thanks :) Yeah, absolutely correct, I should have really shown that. Would have been good little maintenance and and care section. I'll try and make a little after run cleaning and storing video and go over it :)

Thanks :) . Yes unfortunately, I always wondered the same thing, but I'm pretty sure this is the only way to do it. Unless I've completely missed a trick!

Any idea why my 1977 roadster will not run forward but runs backwards ok . no leaks just stops when wheels make contact with ground ??? Does not spin that fast in forward like yours but it Will in reverse

Next time you put hot water in it so you don't have to wait 3 minutes.

Hey 3 minutes is a lot better than 3-4hrs on a real steam tractor! After 3hrs or so of starting the fire....you might have enough steam to get one short blow of the whistle!!!! Lol
