Good to see someone trying the new fuel. You have someone modern mamods dont you could you try the fuel in them as i believe the new fuel is for the solid fuel trays sutch as your sp2 engine. Great vids😉

Hi thanks!! Yes I do have some more modern Mamod engines. Sometime this week I’ll film a video testing the TE1a and the SP2 on the fuel!

Another neat video. My question is does it leave a residue? Is the residue safe to dispose of? How does it do in a tray made foe Esbit? Does the engine in your next video have a Esbit fuel tray?

Thanks! Yes it leaves a white residue which can just be thrown in a bin. I don’t know about Esbit because engines in the UK weren’t built to run on Esbit unlike in the states

Havent used solid fuel for a while as i use methylated spirits l, only engine i use solid fuel is my wilesco steam roller what i havent ran since i ran out of solid fuel, will give the gel a try at some point.

I used mainly solid fuel, the only engines I used Meths on were the ones with Meths burners and the Stuart 500. I ran my D20 on gel today and it ran well but make sure you plug the holes in the burner or line the burner with foil to make sure the gel doesn’t leak out as it’s very runny

@@teescottageguyproductions All my mamods are fitted with meth burners. I find that methylated spirits lasted longer than the tablets. Will be trying the gel in the wilesco at some point so will do slight modification to the burner, also took my mamod to the railway I volunteer at today and have uploaded vids to my channel.

@@teescottageguyproductions Thanks, there uploaded as shorts. Yeah methylated spirits has always been cheap to get and burn better than solid fuel in my opinion
