Man arrested after fire at homeless camp destroys Portland building

A resident and nearby business said they believe the fire was an act of retaliation after the city issued a removal notice to a homeless camp.

Encampment near me regularly had a man chasing a woman with a metal pipe in his hand and screaming at her, 30 German shepherd puppies running wild, fires regularly, trash dumped in the street next to it, piles of stolen bikes from nearby houses. And yet people say they’re victims and are just trying to get by? If you’re a bad person you’re a bad person, regardless of housing status

Burning down your former hobo camp in retaliation isn't desperation it's criminal behavior. That "If I can't have it no one will" attitude is extremely dangerous. The guy is a psychopath. The fact that you brush something like that off and make excuses tells me you're in the same general vicinity of mental illness.

Since living here in the “keep it weird” state of Oregon where education, special education, care for homeless and the like seem to be crapped on by even the wealthy…. I find it bewildering how we can teach people to relate as cats and anything else yet clearly negate all things compassionate and normal. I’ve lived in many states and this one’s pretty screwed up.
