A man is facing charges for buying large quantities of nails and scattering them on roads north of Cincinnati, but it's possible he's been at it for nearly a year according to court records and police.

Its not only the economic damage to the victims and environmental damage of all those wasted tires but also a safety concern. Modern cars drive surprisingly well on a flat tire and with the radio blasting you may not notice it at all until that tire shreds and the driver loses control. It would only take one out of control car to kill someone and then this guy would be facing a murder charge. He should not only be charged with the vandalism and force to pay restitution to victims but also charged with reckless endangerment on every victim and go away for life.

Really? In 1974? Are you at least 70 years old and if so, where did you live to witness this? People were imprisoned for murder and child rape back then, just like today. Serious crimes that the community would have even *more* motive to hunt the offender down for. Yet they didn't. _(Now, black men being lynched in very certain rural towns, "sun down towns?" Sure.)_
@user-zu5do6ri6r4 күн бұрын

I'm a truck driver. I was in the Florence KY (just south of Cincinnati) area a few months ago and came across a guy pouring a small bucket of nails at an intersection near Walmart. I got part of his license plate and complete description. I dialed 911 to report it, but the 911 operator didn't seem too concerned. I followed the guy for a few minutes and called back to update 911 of his location, but the lady seemed agitated that I was "so concerned." I couldn't believe #1 that someone had such a worthless life to do something like that, and #2 the police didn't seem to care.

Whenever I've called and they weren't equipped to deal with something right there in their power, it's never been an issue to transfer me to the appropriate channel. By just blowing stuff off, the operator is just wasting time. If it came back that someone had a blowout that caused major property damage, injury or a fatality and not only was it preventable, but the initial report was blown off, do you think that dispatcher would still have a job? Absolutely not.

The last time just before we moved we got a flat- took it to our tire place and the guy said "Well he outdid himself this time there's 3 caltrops embedded." Over that two years we also had random sharp, shaped pieces of metal embedded as well. It was a dangerous skinny road where if you blew a tire you wouldn't be able to safely react given the drop offs and bluffs butted up to the road, including an epic S curve. This is not just vandalism, its attempted murder, and he should not be allowed to bond out. People could've been seriously injured or died as a result of his psychotic behavior, he should be in prison for life. The fact he did this multiple times and was previously convicted for the very same thing says all we need to know. People like this cannot function in society.

@mikecohen24002 ай бұрын
Given the cost of tire replacement, towing in some cases, this vandalism can amount to Thousands of Dollars, time for a serious felony prosecution, and some serious jail time. The prosecutors should be canvassing the community for victims and getting from them exactly what their costs were, so they can present that evidence to the judge. This is not a guy who should be walking the streets, a nail in a car tire is no joke, especially at high speeds.

Why isn't this guy going to prison? Vandalism with costs exceeding $10k dollars in damage each time. Whoever the DA is needs to be removed, replaced, and get somebody who will uphold our laws and punish the guilty and protect the innocent. Same for any Judges giving this guy bond to walk free after being arrested. People lose jobs, kids miss school and tests, and nobody cares that you got flat tires because someone who hates life threw thousands of nails on roadways to ruin people's lives.

What was that definition of insanity again? Something about arresting the same individual then releasing him time and time again for the same crime, then expecting that the person is going to change his behavior. Similar to the SovCit that keeps getting citations for driving without a license or license plate time and time again. Make me wonder who the REAL idiots are 🤔
