Boro fan who lived in Lancashire here, I like how Burnley have progressed with Kompany who carried on from the Dyche ethos. Burnley over Blackburn every day.

If you looked at City for that game you could tell City showed Kompany respect by playing a strong full A squad line-up (except maybe cup goalkeeper but Ortega is a good keeper so doesn't make much difference). Man city team also went all out for full 90 min even if the game was already played. It shows respect and i'm sure Pep motivated his players saying they have to go all out against a club managed by a City legend like Kompany because City owes it to him. Kompany would want City to go 100%, anything less would be an insult. This game helped Kompany and Burnley a lot because he and his team got a taste of how playing one of the best in PL will feel like. Huge learning experience for Burnley. I think Burnley did very well for 25-30 min. Good pressing and showed a lot of guts. But Man City in that form is one of the (maybe the) strongest sides in world football. I'm really curious at Burnley next year. A lot of loans of key players will end. I think we'll see a whole new Burnley. I know i'll be rooting for them.

Results like this are stepping stones to greatness for this young and talented Burnley team! Utc

As a man city fan you are a legend you was the best defender man city had good luck Mr kompany.

It was always going to be a tough ask,I thought we did well in the first 30 minutes, and then the goal machine clicked into action and it was an uphill ask. It was good to see we stuck with our game and don't forget we shipped 5 goals on several occasions playing the Mr Dyche way. Good learning curve and Vinny will use this game to improve our players and get them ready for the Premiership next season and now we have a two week break and come back fresh and hungry for Sunderland under the lights.

Dyche ,,honest straight forward hard working polite no bull same for Company, yet so different!!!! my problem with the first 30 mins was how hard we were working was unsustainable. But it was a cup game so nothing to lose. But I agree with the plan because the only way we could win was to have a go and score 1st. I went to old trafford the difference was rashford. Here the difference was halland ,,, swap those two for barnsey or jayrod and we win.

I thought Burnley were very good in the first half but to survive next season in the Prem you need to bring in some experience so wise heads in the midfield and some quality up front otherwise i see you struggling
