This type of science is where its at for me thanks for your amazing work i love the information you bring to me , it sets my brain alive with creativity and fires my imagination every time I watch you , i don't make videos of my experiments because im lucky enough to be able to build things in my mind, in fact its so good in there i can leave stuff half built and come back to it months later and add stuff after i have a solution to the problem with my design, it also keeps the shed clear of all the fairly useless projects that I have developed lol . I would recommend a coat of epoxy paint to protect the turbine from UV light if it is one of the plastics which UV turns brittle. Epoxy paint I think will have a better chance of not flaking off. The Eden Project uses ethylene tetrafluoroethylene (ETFE) for its plastic windows of the dome. Presumably this is UV resistant. A good quality thrust bearing which can also resist side loads would also assist it in having a long service life. I have seen many small wind turbines go up over the decades but they don't survive long, due to mainly poor quality materials and poor quality masts.

I have always wondered why the large wind turbines are not covered with solar panels,even the blades.

Could you not counter act over spinning by using a induction motor and upping the voltage to the magnetic coil, causing more output power while also creating more internal drag. Producing more power in heavy wind while also applying a breaking action to avoid over spinning.

Do you have any links for anyone that might want to 3D print these?
