Morten shares his experiences taking finasteride, a popular hair loss drug, and the persistent side effects he suffers during his use and after discontinuation.
Post-Finasteride Syndrome is the current term for a rare syndrome characterized by devastating physical, neurological, and sexual side effects that persist and progress even after stopping finasteride. This condition occurs primarily in younger men who have taken the drug to treat hair loss, and there is currently no effective treatment available.
PFS has a disastrous impact on patients, their families, and their friends. It often leads to disability, isolation, and even suicide. Every person is valuable, and everyone deserves to make a fully informed choice about their health.
More research into Post-Finasteride Syndrome is desperately needed. Learn more about and support the newest scientific initiative here: www.pfsnetwork.org/science

Thanks for sharing your experience Morten. You did a great job of describing everything extremely clearly. I'm really sorry this happened to you. Something similar happened to me from taking an SSRI for a few months. It totally ruined my life in a way that most people won't understand. I hope videos like this will go some way to raise awareness of these iatrogenic illnesses. Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.

Yeah the side effects definately arn't worth it and it's a lot more common than people think. Nov 2017 after 3 months taking the drug, the blood flow to the penis was completely blocked off and the penis couldn't erect at all. Absolutely ZERO. So I tried Nofap/Semen retention that I had been watching videos on for over a year at the time and did it for an entire year and luckily it all came back to normal like I was in high school again. Don't anybody ever get on this drug. Some people might be resistant at first and maybe for a long time but I'm telling you this right now. Eventually the side effects will kick in.

TRT+hCG in combination can assist in some instances, however the body returns to the former disrupted state upon cessation (up and down-regulation of epigenetic signals). More study is needed to ascertain exactly what is ocurring here. If you find TRT is providing benefit for you personally, then perhaps it is worthwhile continuing. Consider regular bloodwork and intermittent hCG to try and keep your natural production running. Individual responses vary, so best to discuss with an Endocrinologist (or similar) who has experience in TRT. If they don't, then find someone else.

I find it interesting men who get those symptoms are mostly very ipochondric, empathetic and self concious. I think there are some symptoms which are caused by finasteride, but majority of those are psychosomatic, like emotional, peoblems with libido and depression. I'm very empathetic self concious person, once I almost made myself believe I have dissociative identity disorder and started experiencing symptoms of it. Icluding physical sensations. I'm not saying finasteride doesnt cause any sides. They are definitely there but as I said, majority of those are a brain trick.

I think it’s simply coincidence or something to do with the general sensitivity of our bodies. It’s not a brain trick, I can’t even use my brain to think clearly, let alone delude myself into thinking I have a systemic life altering medical condition out of nowhere.

People who are highly sensitive or have aspergers Seem to have a different Makeup than "normal" people and are therefore more likely to develop pfs/pssd. That doesn't mean it's psychosomatic.

Genital numbness isn't psychosomatic and is one of the more common pfs symptoms according to everything I have read. Too many cases to believe it's just psychosomatic. There is a clear pattern here that shows that there most certainly is a connection between usage of fin and other pharmaceuticals which can induce such medical conditions.
