It's crazy. You hear about people getting scammed and you have a knee jerk sympathy for the victim. But after watching these videos I've discovered that 90 percent of victims in these cases are some combination of pervy and greedy, almost never sympathetic. Usually pervy in the men's cases and greedy in the women's. And the ones that aren't these are overwhelmingly dumb. I do feel bad for some of the dumb ones though, you can't choose how your brain works.

It is strange but at the same time not surprising. I ´m sorry I ´m gonna talk about my life a bit but my mom was actually involved in a romance scam in the past with a famous actor she liked so much (which wasn’t him corresponding with her obviously). She had a lot of money from a family inheritance and blew literally 10,000€ on a guy she never met. I told her multiple times that it wasn’t real, that he will not be waiting for her in the airport and that he ´s basically scamming her. She couldn’t believed me at that time until she learned from her own mistakes and could never met him. My mom was married to my dad for 20 years, and, after she lost her devotion and love (for good reasons that I won’t discuss) she found herself all by her own, feeding a fantasy of true love that she never really had in that marriage. Anyway, people can feel lonely and unloved, and even if it means that they need to spend thousands of millions just to have a bit of that fantasy, they will.

They are usually at the height of their careers, the top of their earnings, and if they have children their kids are usually old enough to be partially self-sufficient so the mother can spend more time working. Most women aged 40+ don't want a guy who still talks about his high school popularity or who brags that he dates women up to 18 years younger.
