For a group of scientists that are supposed to be specialists in their field, they sure are a bunch of idiots. You get briefed on how to remain sanitized at all times so you dont track bacteria or invasive species to the arctic or back home through sets of procedures that are MANDATORY. Not to mention, why tf would you get close and LITERALLY HOLD the lady vomiting after things are already strange. I get its a movie, but your average person knows better than this group of "scientists" that are violating dozens of blatant rules. The writers couldve at least went to their local college and tried to make it somewhat believable. SHE LITERALLY TOUCHED THE BEARS WOUND CRAWLING WITH PARASITES WITH HER BARE HANDS AFTER THEY ALREADY KNEW ITS INFECTING THE CREW FFS

In this case they are idiot movie characters but when you think of the kids in your school who got the highest test scores etc. They were generally not great at communication, hand eye co-ordination (basically bad at sports)... Borderline autistic... Well they are the kids that go on to be Doctors and scientists so it's not completely obscure... Some doctors I've worked with are totally socially inept and I've known 40 year old unable to do laundry or make a meal... People can think they are rude and have terrible bedside manners but the truth is they are adult versions of the weird intelligent kids you went to school with.

Yea for a team of scientists they sure are idiots lol in real life you have to completely clean yourself and equipment before entering and exiting the artic so you don't track bacteria or invasive species back hoke. There's literally dozens of precautions in place so this doesn't happen in real life, but hey, it's a movie, let's get super close to the lady throwing up after we already noticed things were weird af looool

@xeno6422 seriously? First off, sterilization techniques are one of the first things you learn before you enter a lab....NEVERTHELESS AN ARCTIC EXPEDITION. How do I know? I have a degree in Organismal Biology. Secondly, do these people look like fresh high school graduates? No! They are clearly Graduate Students or PHD candidates. Thirdly, it doesn't take a degree to know YOU DONT TOUCH AN OPEN WOUND THAT YOU CLEARLY KNOW IS INFECTED WITH PARASITES WITHOUT ANY PROTECTION!!! That's basically knowledge, along with keeling distance from someone that is projectile vomiting. It's a bad movie with bad writing, bad plot, and horrendous execution.

Like generally speaking? It's some combination of fear, stupidity & selfishness. Sometimes people are also made not to quarantine by others, even when they want to, or are made to believe wrongful information or ideological rejection of fundamental knowledge. We saw all of these things play a role with anti-vaxxers and idiots not quarantining or in the case of politicians & institutions many failed to enact policy to coordinate disease response against covid19 within a reasonable amount of time.

This is probably the last of the recap channels with integrity. [Edit] those confused about what I mean; most recap channels are either using AI, focusing only on r18+ content, or use misleading titles with thumbnails from different movies- to look more interesting. This channel is the only one left that I click on. Blame those 'pay me $200/m and I'll teach you how to make money and be a desirable man' classes. The last popular trend was telling boys to make as many recap channels as they could manage, many recommended AI. That's why the platform suddenly became flooded with infinite channels all posting the same thing- many are individuals running multiple channels posting near identical versions of the same recap. The original community all became corrupted in their bid to compete. Needless to say the scammers made off with way more than any of these channels are getting.

What inside a med kit will help you deal with a chopped off arm?

@@conradlorgar5508 there are things that you can make a tourniquet with to stop the blood flow. Also I don't know maybe gauze and bandages to bandage the wound (sarcasm here). Never diss a well stocked med kit that thing can really save you. Ruffly 8-10 years ago me and my family were in the states on vacation. The cabin that we had rented was on a pond. One night my father was around the fire speaking with a friend when he tripped and fell in the fire. Fortunately he burned only his arm, unfortunately the burn was so bad that some of the nerves were impacted. Me and my mother worked around an hour maybe more to halt the swelling and disinfect the wound. It took many months for my father hand to heal with daily bandages changes. Even the doctors told him that if it wasn't for my mom quick action( she works in a hospital and these same doctors are her colleagues) there was a huge chance that he would have lost the usage of his arm. He is totally recovered. So never diss a med kit. If we didn't had it at the time my father in the worst case scenario would have lost the usage of his arm and in the best case scenario only partially recovered as his nerves were burn. The fact that we had it and some extra SAVED his arm. So a well stocked med kit maybe will not totally help you with a chopped arm however in it there is gauze, bandages, stuff to stop the bleeding( even if there isn't a belt or a cord will do just the trick) and antibiotics to delay the infection and much more as this is an isolated location so the med kit must be one of the most complete ones as medical aid is usually far away

@@CoolGuy-qn2nw they had a tourniquet (those arent kept in 1st aid kits), gauze and bandages are the same thing and disinfectant is useless in a wound that large Med kits arent made for chopped off limbs they are for wounds, cuts, abrasions, breaks, burns, and bruises

well if you think about it according to what I have raid some bacteria can survive up to 80 degrees celsius or more before they die. Some bacteria can survive freezing and become active once again after warming up. As we know bacteria are microscopic organisms so technically it is possible if these bacteria have infected an Ice Age animal to get active once again and infect us with some ancient virus that we don't have any defence for However the chance for that is slim to none as when an ice age animal is discovered in recognizable condition measures are put to keep it in an environment that will keep it frozen and not decompose. The scientists usually don't have direct contact with the animal as the heat produced by their bodies can kick start the thawing process. So their skin is usually covered. Also I presume that the specimens are kept in some kind of chamber and access to them is by a decontamination chamber to not bring or out any organisms between different environments
