Rashford finally getting a dose of reality 🗑️

I do not take joy in Rashford not making the England squad but he has long needed a wake up call for both club and country. To me Rashford isn't giving his all , off-the-pitch antics and body language quite poor , form way off the pace and seems to be going through the motions at times. I see complacency from Rashford , he needs / needed a wakeup call , if he stays (which i am fine if he's sold tbh) he needs to be giving his all week in / week out. I do think part of his decline is not giving 100 % everyday and every match. And i'd say at least part (not all) of that complacency was enabled by Southgate who picked him regardless of form for a very long time. So at least that cycle did not continue.

The issue for me is there is a difference between smart deals and cheap deals. I hope INEOS are opting more for smart deals , we can't just be bringing in certain players because they are cheap. We do have to navigate tight finances and tight FFP / PSR but the profile still has to be right. Ntm , you just can't bring in all raw unproven players. Olise looks ready for the next step and already doing it in the PL , so he works imo. But CBs if its Yoro and Branthwaite or Yoro and one of those young LCB / LB types that is a bit risky. If they don't settle right away expect Harry to be playing quite a few matches next term (if HM stays). Even Branthwaite to me he is raw / not the finished article , not the most mobile and coming from a low block system where he will have to evolve from. Finished article ready to go type have to be part of the recruitment like a Todibo or Bremer , Olise basically on the cusp of that , Frimpong certainly is already a very good footballer , agree or disagree on signing him but Rabiot could start in the PL right away and he's a physical player. Our 9 given we have Rasmus could be either experienced or another up and comer. But the balance has to be right between finished article types and young hungry potential ; and the deals have to be smart not simply cheap.

If Fofana will cost £25M then what are United waiting for? That would be a good signing because he can play as a 6 and an 8. He's got physical presence, shields the ball well, drives the ball forward well, he's tenacious, is at a good Football age (25 years), has good range of passes and can score when he gets high up the pitch. This will help United sign another midfielder because they need at least two good midfielders of which one of them should be able to play as a 6 and the other as an 8. United MUST make this happen. Sign Fofana from Monaco. It will add steal to the midfield set up.

Truth is Rashford didn't deserve to be picked. But same can be said for Shaw who has missed over half the season! Southgate favourites!

I think Rashford just got too comfortable and started coasting along... he needs to put the pedal to the metal to get back on form!

You should definitely be looking at Hato, decent left footed centre halves are rarer then hen's teeth. We would be looking to develop him to cover/understudy for Gabriel in the future as Kiwior hasn't shown signs that he is that guy yet for us.

I believe ETH knows what he’s doing and he knows he can bring success to United given sufficient time (perhaps 2-4 yrs) to mould the team to his liking. SAF & Klopp took more than 3 years to buils a strong team to win trophies. Chelsea and MC already had strong teams when Mourinho ang Guardiola came in.

Your framing of perfect signings as backups is probably wrong. You need to upgrade the first team and not assume players who were injured most of this season are going to be fully fit next season and in top form. Backups won’t get Top 4, and will struggle even to get Top 6. If you want to be patient with a project that is fine, but most fans won’t stand for that.

We settled on Amrabat because we couldn't get Fofana,so logically it makes sense. But INEOS had no involvement as far as I know. Hopefully Jason Wilcox is aware of him and it's one of those happy coincidences where a quick deal is possible, because of our prior contact.

Rashford haven't do his best to earn his ticket to the Euro's. It's not smart to take Shaw with you as he has no rhythm and still needs to regain his strength. He will definitely experience cramps or another injury in the play-offs due to putting too much strain on the body. Who will then pay for his injury, the FA or United? If United had to pay than they must go to the court and let FA Bleed from the decision that Southgate made.
