I have ntm. This lecture is completely depressing. I will be taking these drugs next week. My pulmonologist will never do the things Dr. Huitt says we should do. I cannot go to Denver. It is very difficult to get any help. I live in LA and know of no ntm specialist or program. I’m 78 years old. I will have to try to this all by myself.

She is depressing. I can’t stand listening to her. I take ethambutol and azithromycin with food with breakfast. I take rifampin at night after Eating . I have tinnitus too. My doctor does not seem very knowledgeable about MAC. He said azithromycin doesn’t cause tinnitus, only hearing loss. He is wrong about this. So, even if we get hearing loss there isn’t another drug that replaces azithromycin. I’m 77 yrs old and do not like taking the big 3. The worst side effect I have is gerd, stomach pain and nausea. I have to take Pepcid to tolerate the upset stomach.

Thank you so much, Dr. Huitt! I continue to learn so much each time I watch one of your presentations. Hopefully, I’m getting closer to being able to schedule my appointment . Three months and counting!
