I was found positive on culture for MAC but there's no susceptibility testing in my country. If i do not make it out alive and you are reading this comment, just pray for better global healthcare without boundaries and live your life to the fullest.

So grateful to Dr Daley and NJH for making this video available. I've learned so much more from this than I learned from my provider and most importantly, I identified questions I need to ask my provider. Evidence that I need to help manage my healthcare.

Thank you for the presentation. While informative, one crucial question remains. How does one know where to live to avoid the contaminants that you're susceptible to?

Thanks for the video. The hospital did a bronch on me and sent my cultures to National Jewish for testing but never called me with the results and now I find them in the portal a year later and their pulmonary is refusing to see me and now I see that I have M. Fortuitum. At least I see that it's in the lower category of infectivity so maybe that's why they are not worried and not even following up but I continue to be symptomatic. I guess I'll have to find another pulmonary who is willing to work with your institution to see if I am still culturing this and if this is a problem for me. Unbelievable how some doctors can be so dismissive and I have traditional medicare so you'd think they would be willing to work with me since there are no referrals but nope, not interested.

Send you best wishes from Germany 🙏🍀 Tomorrow June 4/2024 I will find out what kind of Mycobacteria I have. I'm 69 and afraid, because they ate already a whole in my right lung 😢

Thank you, Dr. Daley! You have confirmed my thinking that the local lab my hospital uses to test my sputum samples does not go far enough! Once the sample grows MAC it stops! I am hesitant to consider treatment options until I get an appointment at NJH. Hopefully, that will be soon. It has been three months since I submitted all the requested documentation. I’ve read that patience is a virtue. I’ve also read that virtue is a fig! Best!

I have MAC.. My doctor is doing well with mine. First, it was antibiotics. Now that he took me off the antibiotics, it is growing. Now, it's time for biopsy. Not to bad, so far.

My daughter was diagnosed with NTP Mac back in 2019. She underwent the the extreme antibiotic regiment for 26 months and we are now looking at surgery to remove left upper lobe and there is extensive damage all through rright lung. We are looking for any and all information on this disease to understand and guide us in the right direction for treatment and recovery.

Hello! I have a question regarding lung scars. I was diagnosed with M. Kansasii and I have been undergoing treatment for about 4 months. My chest x rays show improvement, but I'm scared that I will have scars. Do they last for a lifetime? Are they a risk factor for another disease? Thank you!!

Adding that I have cavities already, but on a CT I had a few months ago it said that there was a reduction in extension and size of the cavities. Is that possible?

Thank you doc.Daley, for your explanation. Now I am a le to better understand my disease and what was the true reason that I lost my weight during last cca 5 years. I'm 76years old woman with bronchiexctasis and MAC. I live in Slovakia Europe. Was treated with Claritromycin, Benemicin 300mg (rifampicin) Sural 400mg (Ethambutol). After 10 month I had negative sputum test, so the treatment was finished. But in a few month I was again reinfected. Now I have mycobacteria intercellularis and chelon. My pneumologist doesn't recommend a new treatment because I had significant weight loss and can get digestion side effects. Once again, thanks very much!!!w
