Awesome topic, Caleb! The way we keep our organized, is like this: Client->Project->Files(Both b-roll/Final Project folders, their logo folder)--->Year-> Project Name. We could do it differently but for two years running that has been working for us.

The best way to have Post Haste create a Library for you is to configure a template Library in FCPX. You can preset keyword collections, smart collections, whatever. Then, save the Library anywhere on your computer and in Post Haste, when customizing a template project, you can import the Library into Post Haste. The best part: the Library doesn't need to be kept, Post Haste retains a copy.

Just checked out the Post Haste manual, only 21 pages, got to give it a try!

So grateful for this. I'm trying to figure out how to organize all my random footage. Maybe I should create a project called 'Stock', and dump my media into it.

Nice way to organize files... BUT (if using ADOBE).... how is this useful if you set your Project files on one drive.... your Media/Footage on another file... Your Cache/Renders/Previews on another drive... etc. ....as you work with the project. On one hand, it appears that Post Haste does a nice job of organizing a project onto ONE drive... it does nothing to make the process more efficient from a computer usage standpoint since it does not segregate files (on separate drives) as ADOBE recommends. Am I missing something? Can Post Haste assign different drives for each folder holding media and project files?

awesome video guys....in terms of archiving RAW Footage & Archives of Projects for LONG TERM (more than say a year or more) - what is your typical time length for holding onto both of those? Alot of people say you should never delete RAW footage or project files but sometimes I have upwards in the way of 600G+ of RAW footage alone BEFORE I even start working on a project. If I were to keep all of this on external HDs, even at say, a RAID system, I will still be eating up a decent amount of space, of if I do have the funds to get smaller/cheaper HDs for each project - I would end up with a million drives every where just taking up shelf or floor space. I can upload it but I would be paying a crap ton of money per month to just hold on to the material for an unknown amount of time so not sure what methods, timing and tips you can offer in terms of thoughts and considerations when holding and/or dumping RAW files and Project Archives.

When I attempted to download Post Haste from the Digital Rebellion via the link in the show notes, WIndows Defender popped up warning that the download contained Trojan:Win32/Vigorf.A with a alert rating of severe and recommended deleting the file, which I did. Has anyone been able to download a clean copy of the software?
