A critical skill of any Lean organization is the ability to manage with metrics. Decisions should be based on facts and data. Leaders should make information-based plans, and then track to make sure that the plan works.
This means lots of measuring and posting the results of that measurement. That can be a challenge for leaders who are used to making gut-feel decisions, and it can be a challenge to team members who think they are being micromanaged.
But there is tremendous power in using cold, hard data to drive action. It forces prior planning. It drives action quickly. It highlights opportunities for improvement.
Learn more about what to do, and what not to do, in this video from our Lean Training System.
