Man United 99 treble winners went unbeaten in all competitions from December of that season till the ending of the season. Their treble is far better than City's. And if City are found guilty of all 115 charges, then their league title of 2022/23 will get stripped from them.

We're talking about winning with heart, passion, fighting mentality and comeback spirit not monopolying finances and getting breach charges for undue advantages to gain sporting glory

I could not have said it better. The only thing I would is that Man Utd's treble season felt like an adventurous journey at the time. City's treble felt like it was bought.

@@anthonymcken6050 It was an adventurous journey because the games weren't easy, that boys had to fight and comeback unbelievably in games that seemed like they lost, Beckham's goals against spurs, Giggs solo goal against Arsenal, Keane's performance against Juve, Ole's winner, and the commentator in the Ucl final said it best" Manchester united have reached the promised land" it was a team effort not buying a 50+ goal player to win you every game easily in an already beefed up quality team against weaker top sides that provided no challenge and still struggle to provide a challenge.

@@davidtakyi14 And thats what wr want as football fans, we want pure theatre, unscripted drama. Man City winning with a 6' 4" juggernaut up front, excellent defenders and some of the best playmakers in Europe where is the fun in that? That's a bloody super team that's been constructed by powerful wealthy men. It's similar to Berlusconi's AC Milan of the late 80s. Man City have bought the Premier league their only opposition now is the likes of Real Madrid and maybe Bayern Munich.

@@davidtakyi14 Utd didn't start that 98/99 season with talk about doing the treble it was something that happened organically with their results. Utd were just looking to regain the Premier league title back from Arsenal's clutch. For the past three seasons now all the talk has been about whether City can do a clean sweep of all the domestic titles plus Europe, therein lies the difference for me.

@@anthonymcken6050 To say they bought it is ludicrous. Many teams spend a lot and teams like Chelsea and United have spent more only to win way less . The game is played and decided on the pitch not with money. You have to spend properly and have a great manager who can develop players. You don't just throw a bunch of money on a bunch of players and be the best team. You would know that if you knew something about football.

Its hard to say if they were better than peps City because United then were as City are now beautiful to watch. What I will say though is the opposition United faced were so so much better than what City play against. City now against United then that is a game I'd love to see. But every top 4 side from every European country beats the same club side of today easily Manchester United Chelsea arsenal, Real Madrid Barcelona Ac Milan inter juve from 20 years ago dont just win but batter todays sides of the same club. City are a truly great team but there is no truly great opposition for them .

Losing 0-3 at old trafford to middlesbrough on boxing day 1998 was the last game utd lost that season, that lose spurned them on to go the rest of the season unbeaten and win the treble

@jasonbrosnan8770 ManUtd's 3 PL losses that season conceded 3 in all but different scores Arsenal 3-0 at Highbury, SheffWed 3-1 at Hillsborough & Middlesbrough 2-3 OldTrafford. You were probably thinking 0-3 because ManUtd were 0-3 down at one stage in the Boro game pulled 2 goals back and/or you thought of Arsenal 3-0 loss. ManUtd went down to 10 men at Highbury and Ljungberg's goal was offside.
