Well Marlena for Damiano is like Beatrice for Dante Fiammetta for Boccaccio or Laura for Petrarca. All of these women were both real persons and the source of ispiration for the poetry of these writers. The italian cultural tradition usually consider women to be the main source of ispiration of art. As a matter of fact, if you notice, at the end of the video there is Damiano with his eyes covered by feminine hands. Because it's her who allows him to "see" and discover new aspects of life. Right :) I just want to add that they show her metaphorically as if she were a person. In this video she is a dancer, in the video of "Le parole lontane/the distant words" she is a girl who visits each of them. Omg... I am getting addicted to them, love their lirycs and music so much! 🖤

Simply put, Marlena is the muse but she is not a woman, it refers to music. In the text "Marlena returns home" she talks about her difficulty in composing texts because she has lost her inspiration. If you like ballads from Måneskin I suggest Vent’anni, Coraline and Le Parole Lontane. All in Italian, they are powerful with their native language. I like the English songs too but no comparison with the Italian ones especially for the lyrics.
