one tip, if you need the weight capacity and the low level feature, with the column options, try a Gitzo systematic tripod!, this has a hole in the spider so a ball adaptor, column, or just a disc can be installed, use case dependent, and easily upgradable for your needs.

You are NOT supposed to spread the legs at 70 degrees with the legs fully stretched. You’ll break them 🤦♂️

I agree it makes a lot of sense. Sadly I don't think ver 2 is coming anytime soon (not for the 645 at least - for the 635 - maybe, the open/lock mechanism needs some work in our opinion).

7:50 you can actually get the 645 fast to drop to 10 inches if you take off the spreader

Yeah but keep in mind that you need a half ball that will work with that.

But one thing I am still curious is the horizontal or vertical strength. So how stable it is when twisted. Because when you have the head on a hig resistance and the tripod is weak it can wabble when you do left to right. Would love to see that in the next videos

Manfrotto has a "quick release" system, similar to this. It's a hex stud on super-clamps (i.e. Manfrotto 208HEX 3/8-Inch Camera Mounting Platform Adapter). Sad, it's for super-clamps only.
