Here's another manga recommendation video from me, this time with 6 more manga for you to potentially get introduced too. I tried, as always, to come up with a diverse list of genres and demographics, so there should be at least one story in here for everyone.

Only noticed this small mistake, but at the begining I say "seven manga" when I actually recommend six, turns out I can't count when recording at 3am in the morning, oopsie. Ever read a romance manga and thought to yourself "OMG just talking to each other!!!" Fragrant Flower is what happens when the characters doesn't have piss poor communication skill. Edit: Can't believe you didn't mention the magical crossdressing CEO in Magilumiere.

Yeah, miscommunication isn't a favourite of mine, especially when it makes the characters seem OOC. So glad Fragrant Flowers doesn't fall under that! (And I thought the visuals would be funny enough without explanation 😂😂)

That is really intriguing, I personally found it to be pretty uninteresting. I was really excited by the premise when I started reading it but soon enough it became a pretty standard manga. I dropped it some months ago. Compared to some other ongoing weekly serializations like Dandadan (I cannot recommend it enough) and Akane Banashi, Magilumiere was lackluster to me.

I don't think miscommunication itself is bad because people are like that. They always mis-communicate. It's more like, did the story do a good job in creating a miscommunication scenario which is believable according to the personalities of our character. I mean kaguya sama is pretty much that and I love that series.

I've only read Gokurakugai so I fully agree with you there and all the others look so good! A genuine must read list where every single thing in the list looks amazing and I now desperately want to read. Also, I love the sublime job you do with the thumbnails and the bits of animation you do with manga panels for your videos. They really make your videos come to life and look utterly beautiful!

I was always wondering why almost nobody else is ever mentioning Magilumiere, it is a neat little manga that I enjoy reading on a weekly basis a lot.Thanks for covering it.

Completely agree!! Before it got recommended to me randomly, I'd never even heard of the manga, which is so strange given the magazine its in. Maybe an anime is in need to boost it to more people? But my pleasure, absolutely loved it!

I suggest reading THE INVISIBLE MAN AND HIS SOON-TO-BE WIFE. A story about “Yakou Shizuka, a quiet and bashful woman, works at a detective agency. Her boss Tounome, who owns the company, is the gentlemanly type, kind and dapper, though he has an extra talent- he invisible! His special ability is perfect for detective work, but he quickly come to find it doesn’t work on Yakou, who is blind and always knows if he’s near. Charmed, Tounome is determined to get her to date him and isn’t against using his many skills. Yakou’s quirky coworkers, a contrarian human man and a sisterly beastwoman, kindly watch over her as she stumbles and blushes through the uncharted waters of office romance.” The world of this story is interesting with both monster and human, funny and charming characters. Also Yakou is believable as a visible impair character too.

That's completely fair, especially with physical manga prices going up! At least Lost Lad London is a shorter series to collect though - very good choice!

Thank you for sharing your manga recs! It's super refreshing finding a creator who actually explores manga series beyond the mainstream and shares so many similar favorites as myself! The effort you put into animating the panels is also so nice. Lost Lad London was in my to read list for the same reason as you, and now I have to check out Eniale & Dewiela as well!

OMG I LOVE MAGILUMIERE!!!! FINALLY I HEAR PPL TALKING ABOUT IT Also I just want to say, your channel is one of my favorites. I love the way your analysis are so organized and detailed, so it's easy to follow but also not superficial. As someone who has always analyzed every manga I read in a lot of detail, I love to think about the pacing, artstyle, and use of certian unique elements in each manga I read. And I love seeing you talk about manga I've already read, cause there's a some things you analyse that I don't think about, so you make me notice things more when reading manga and it's so eye-opening

As someone that also does little animations with manga panels for my videos, my appreciation for the content is overridden by the immense feeling of "cutting and redrawing that must have been a bitch" whenever a new panel comes up. Great stuff as always.

It's no wonder I either already know the recs or they're on par with my taste since your friends are creators I enjoy too! Artisan Geek's narrative voice is unforgettable and Colleen's Manga Recs is such a bingable channel. Animanga youtubers are such a great mix of analysis and well.. "nerd" or weeb interests. on another note, i was so close to buying unlicensed english language malaysian printed Changes of the Heart manga because it's just too good. I'm holding back but if doesn't start an english release... well

Gokurakugai has more than one shot??? I loooovvvee Tao because of how cool she is while still being part of a main character. Jump female main characters are usually fanservice-y and when older are often more femme fatale than a older wise figure.

Eniale & Dewiela cuz Kamome Shirahama is an automatic yes for me after WHA. (Gokurakugai and Changes of Heart are also going to get read. I have been craving for a good action/shounen manga and a good romance manga) @@linesinmotion

Great suggestions! Another really cool new series I haven’t heard more people talk about is Yomi No Tsugai or Daemons Of The Shadow Realm. It’s a new series by Fullmetal Alchemist creator Hiromu Arakawa. It’s a really interesting & fun series! Only 22 chapters have been released so far & a few volumes have been released, but as a fan of FMA, I’ve been really impressed by what I’ve read so far, I highly recommend it!

Thank you so much for bringing Lost Lad London to my attention, by sheer luck i found all 3 volumes in person and found the mystery plus characters captivating and charming. London as a setting with the more abstract art was the perfect setting for the story, and the realistic racial discrimination themes in the story felt refreshing for a subject that's often half-baked in most manga.

Always look forward to your recs, and just the overall production quality of every video. I remember watching your Blue Period and Witch Hat Atelier videos and thinking I've found a special channel that I'd be coming back to. P.S. Dunno if you've checked it out yet, but Blue Box (Ao no Hako) is insanely good. Might be the bext grounded romance manga I've ever read, which is insane for a Shonen Jump series.

Yooo I finally came into the magilumiere hype and have since fallen in love. It sort of embodies what I personally wish MHA would do, in terms of sharper pacing, conflict escalation and overall political engagement w the world building. But something else that gets me is that magilumiere is a story about adults who are adults, supportive and mature. Also president Chan is husband material. 💍

Lost Lad London and Enalie and Dwelia are the ones I'm most interested in here. I was excited at the prospect of a modern magical girl manga that I can read without paying scalper prices, but...I just don't want subversions of the traditional magical girl anymore. I want the fluffy, feminine charm that the genre is known for, and I don't think I'll get that with a Shonen manga. It sounds good, but It'll probably disapoint me if I buy it now.

A manga I don’t think I’ve seen on your channel yet that you should definitely check out “Moon Landing”. It’s a story about a boy who loves gymnastics and joins a team, idk exactly how to explain it to the fullest extent, but it’s this story that talks about being apart of a team while competing alone and how people feel about. Kinda short in but really good. Idk put it in a similar vein to early Haikyuu
