Wow this video was excellent. The subtle skeletal animations on the illustrations were done so seamlessly and yet really brought these stills to life. What a treat to watch.

I mean, it is a Seinen manga, and Seinen is a genre directed at young adult men. If you don't like it, no big deal, since you're just not part of the targeted demographic. It's the same sort of issue trying to get the young girl demographic interested in stuff like Batman or getting young boys interested in Barbie. There will be some overlap since its a wide wide world, but ultimately, if it's not your genre, its not your genre.

Just finished watching/listening to this video while I was working! Loved listening and watching every bit of it and hearing your answers to all sorts of interesting questions about all sorts of things. Also, it was cool seeing your vlog aspects too. It's definitely pretty cool how you got into anime around high school/college age, but became such a big fan afterwards! Kinda interesting how Attach on Titan was how it sparked your interest initially from its initial boom from probably how its first season went viral? And thank you as well for answering my questions at the end (mine were the three in one combo at the end. Aha). To actually clarify on one of my questions, it was actually your thoughts on autobiographical manga in general (I used My Lesbian Experience with Lonliness as an example as its probably the most famous), but there are others like The Girl That Can't Get a Girlfriend, Blank Canvas: My So-Called Artist’s Journey (same mangaka as Princess Jellyfish), or Until I Love Myself: The Journey of a Nonbinary Manga Artist. I think because of My Lesbian Experience with Lonliness, these types of manga have become more popular, but I do agree that their rawness is probably some of their greatest appeals. While your answer on the impact of the pandemic makes sense too, as perhaps it increased a sense of entitlement that people felt regarding content and rushing their creators to make more out of either obligation or their already tight schedules. Its sad to see that negative side as content takes time, and for the most part, people who create content themselves wouldn't rush others to create content. Leaks definitely suck as people get so impatient. While the good side is the wider appeal of manga and anime to a more general audience as before, there always existed a general stigma against these types of Japanese media due to stereotypes or exhaggerations of what already exists.

FOOL NIGHT IS A MANGA I LONGED FOR SO LONG ever since i finished reading Naoki Urasawa Sensei's esential works. I adore it so much! The concept, the story, the art, the panelings. Maybe, the last title ever doing it for me before it was Tengoku Daimakyou. That got animated recently.

Right? It does get a lot of flack, there's aome great areas in Brum. But the main train station? 😂 It's okay, I prefer it over Euston and Manchester Piccadilly myself

I just finished the video and oh my god, it was such a nice idea adding those vlog tidbids!! And ah, there's so many things I want to comment!!! hahah you talked about lots of interesting topics. First of all, I went to London Forbidden Planet some years ago and it was incredible! The lower floor was like a labyrinth of books/manga, it was amazing! It's very similar to our biggest manga store in Spain~ And thank you for answering my question!! (I also struggle with the audio!) I also use nearly every plugin you mentioned! Deep Glow is my BELOVED. I use it literally in every animation i do for work hahahahahah. Also, Shadow Studio is really powerful too! though you have Jake's in Motion free presets that create similar effects! Also, Optical Flares are amazing, the level of detail you can achieve is really cool, but I struggle to find a project where I can take advantage of all the settings. Another things related to the Q&A: Some months ago I started Chihayafuru (they finally licensed it in Spain, yay!) and I'm LOVING it!!! They're just for the 5th volume but I'm always hungry for reading the next one. And I also love Kitchen of Witch Hat, specially because Qifrey and Olruggio are SO married there 😭love them so much. Anyway, another amazing video Dani! I actually find amazing how good you express on the camera now? You really seem much more comfortable to even have some jokes/funny stuff, I liked it a lot!
@linesinmotion3 күн бұрын
Ahh, thank you!! And the lower floor really IS a maze, I was shocked by how big it was. The only other manga related store I've been to that was bigger, was whilst I was in France (thought I'm not shocked there). I'll have to check out the manga store in Spain when I visit next, actually! Deep Glow, my sweet summer child - the perfect plugin. And I tried Jake's plug-in, but it didn't work amazingly for me. I think me PC just isn't strong enough tbh! And I see flare used very often in manga AMV's. I think having the white background most the time is pretty helpful with that. But outside of manga animation, I can see why it'd be a plug-in not used too often, though I've used it for logo animation work. I can't believe it took Spain so long to get Chihayafuru, but I'm super glad you're loving it!! Such an underrated gem! And right?! WHA Kitchen is just two husbands and their four daughters haha And I still struggle a bit with camera confidence, but I definitely feel way more comfortable now than say the start of the channel, I'm glad that's able to come through in the videos - thank you!! 😭😭 That definitely boosts my confidence!

I don't mind how long it takes, I can wait, but please let us know when your books come out. I want a copy (of each, that is). Oh and please do read Monster. It was my first introduction to manga (I was always a weirdo) and I instantly knew I had a masterpiece in my hands. I'd love to know your thoughts on it, again, I don't mind how long it takes ;) The thing with Nagata's realism is that I read her mangas in order (as in biographical order) and I witnessed her falling deeper and deeper into darkness so at some point I had to stop reading because I had depression (not because of the manga, of course) and it was triggering me and making me feel scared for her and for myself, like, really really scared.
@linesinmotion3 күн бұрын
I definitely will do! I'll probably do a little snippet or something in a video closer to the time promoting it! Oh wow, Monster as a first introduction is definitely a hitter! Though I guess I can see why those, especially who like period dramas in the west, might like it - I'm not surprised Guillermo del toro wanted to adapt it. And I completely get that (about Nagata's works). Despite the artstyle, I can understand how the heavy topics won't be easy for people to read. She did make an author's note to say she's okay, but going by her work it does make you feel a bit of dread for her health.
