I'm American but I've been living in Japan for the past 6 years. My husband is Japanese and he's a HUGE otaku. I showed him this video and he was absolutely overjoyed at how many manga have been translated into English. I miss American bookstores a lot, so I really appreciate this video!!

I second this! As both one of my favorite manga and anime, Toilet-Bound Hanako-Kun is such a great story. The spines look really pretty together on a shelf as well which to me is a huge plus. I highly recommend to anyone, especially those who appreciate mystery, some suspense, and for a genuinely really fun and interesting read :)

When you said that your grandpa started reading black butler it reminded me of when I saw two old ladies buying the newest one piece volume together lol. Also I absolutely LOVE apothecary diaries!! I read every new volume as soon as they come out. I hope you enjoy it! :)

Land of the Lustrous quickly became one of my all time favorite manga. It really has that oldschool sci-fi feel like nothing else has had lately and it's just captivating.

I know I'm a tad late, but I highly, HIGHLY recommend Our Dreams At Dusk. The art is so pretty with the pretty spiraling landscapes to the glints in the characters eyes! The characters are so well thought out and each gets a good story line throughout the 4 volumes. Lastly, the last volume will make you, or almost make you, cry your eyes out with one story line!

Baccano was interesting to say the least. It started out as a mafia manga but turned into a super natural story. I haven't read it in a while and I might want to try it again.

@@purplefrogYT Idk I haven't read bungo stray dogs yet. If I remember correctly there is a mob boss who has an elixer that is keeping him alive forever and the main character has someway of taking him down. Its veen at least five years since I've read it, lol.

I’ve started to buy One Piece, I have nearly half the series, I have 1-24, and then 71-100, I need to get the 2nd & 3rd box sets. I’ve paused my manga buying for a while as I’ve spent like €7,000 on it this year. Until I’ve actually read a lot of what I have I’m not getting any more.

@@purplefrogYT coyote is a romeo and juliet type of story (hopefully with a better ending thou lol) only with werewolves and mafia having a long standing feud. birds of shangrila is my fav of all her works. there is this straight dude apollo who arrives at a super fancy male brothel to work as a fluffer basically. and one of the sex workers there Phi takes over his training. things ensue. there is so much to the story and its better of u experience it for urself but one thing i wanna mention is that the brothel is very atypical as its owned by a crazy rich gay man who makes sure that the sex workers actually wanna be there, feel safe and protected and basically are having the best time of their lives. yep. hope you'll pick it up. :)

A sign of affection is a really beautiful series, with a great story. 😊 Also Case and Study of Vanitas is really good but hard to find 1-3 volumes but the anime is also very beautiful. 😊 What are some of your favorite manga series? 😁
