This Mango buffet was made from old railway sleepers. The metal inlays and the knobs were made from a rail and as cool as it sounds it was in need of a modern makeover. I removed the skirting and the back and used the wood to make new doors. I sanded the entire buffet and gave it a coat of orange scented wax plus new modern metal legs. Mew brass pulls finished it off and it looks better than ever. Incredible wood grain enhanced by the nursing bees wax.

Amazing. This is the first piece of furniture I’ve seen made from railroad ties. Great work bringing it back to a beautiful work of art. 💕🖖🏽🌈also I have a drill bit extension piece like that black one you used and I have been wondering when I would ever use it.. so thank you now I know. If you ever come across another piece like this you should do doors on both sides to access from either side, w/ a fully open set of shelves down the center so to access or display items on either side, add legs to raise it up to Counter height for a kitchen island

Wow, & it's made from Mango wood Railway Sleepers. I have never heard of Railway Sleepers being made from Mango wood & never knew this was such stunning looking timber. To cut these sleepers down & make a Buffet is also amazing. I am so glad you set about re-releasing the beauty of the wood in this old buffet, it is an outstanding job which I am sure bought you much pleasure. Congratulations , Don from South Australia.

Monster Mango! High on the scale of beautiful and unusual in my mind… could’ve never managed such accuracy that you gave the hinges. You had to have taken “Hinges 101”.
