As someone who went through addiction, and still am until I die, I loved this. People like this sharing their story just brings light to it. I've been sober for 5 years and a month now and I hope maniac can continue. 60 days doesn't seem like a lot but it will keep stacking and before you know it you'll be years in. Awesome podcast

My parents struggled with addiction and weren’t able to give up the thrill, lost my siblings and I. Major props to Nick for doing what he’s doing in the public eye.

Maniac, I appreciate you speaking about addiction man. I got sober when I was 25... I was completely sober for almost 5 years. The last couple years I’ve been fucking up. Don’t stop going to meetings, don’t stop doing the hard work. It actually works. It’s nuts. I stopped doing the work, going to meetings and being of service. Thank you for reminding me of where I came from and where I’m at now, compared to where I used to be.

Yo hecz and Nick I’ve been playing hockey for like the past 7 years straight and that back pain you’re talking about usually comes from the way you bend your back, relaxing while skating and getting used to it helps

Nick looks so good genuinely. Love the positivity and optimism, but you gotta stay focused on what's important. Eating healthy and being sober is why you feel so good. Love the mindset overall but just be careful and keep talking to the ones who love you. 60+ days of sobriety is a hell of an accomplishment though, big ups

As someone who has fought the exact same demons that Maniac is; and as someone who is over 11 1/2 years sober (from alcohol), I would caution against trying to “dabble” in anything if you can, it’s a slippery slope and very dangerous step. Hey NiaC. Meditation, magnesium, melatonin, staying away from caffeine late in the day, staying off screens before bed...and having a nightly routine have really helped me with sleep issues. I remember staying up for days in the past cuz of anxiety, but I haven't worried about that in forever. Everyone is different but I'd be cautious about any sort of sleep medication, especially with your history. Anyway just wanted to share. Peace n love brotha

Loved the podcast! One topic I want to share my opinion on. I smoke weed everyday of my life. It is my medicine, and allows me to function properly in social envirnments without getting super anxious. It allows me to focus on my thoughts and think through what I say, before it comes out of my mouth. If you treat it with respect and a medicine, instead of there to "get f'd up", it is the furthest thing from a gateway drug. I don't drink, I dont do any drugs. I smoke my weed, and I don't let it consume my life and make me lazy. Just my opinion/perspective. Much love
