What most impresses me is three trombonists are capable of being the lead, each offering what they do, and one guy is like three bass trombonists. There is no weak link.

You realize that now you are the Brass Section Gods of every High School and College marching band in the country. They will all look up to you now that they realize the true potential of their trombones. Now they know they can be cool! Excellent job and very creative!

I've been listening to this chart and this recording for probably 5 years. I keep coming back to it. That oughta tell you something, gentlemen. I find it interesting that the lead trombonist (sorry, don't know his name) goes out to 4th position for D above the bass clef staff. That isn't normal, as most players will play that note in 1st position, but hell -- I can't argue with success, especially in the 4th line D in the treble clef, which he plays with authority and sensitivity. I'm a euphoniumist and bass trombonist (aw, hell, I play tuba too, but don't tell anybody) and I recognize artistry when I hear it. You guys rock!

This is one of the best I've heard in years. It's beautiful, and can only make one see the true range of an instrument which sits in the background of most compositions - I'm going next to get their album on Amazon.

If you played this for a kid and they decided not to play the trombone you should have their head examined! This is why the trombone is the most beautiful instrument.

Maniacal 4, I've always wondered why you have two tenors one no trigger and the other is trigger. Can you please explai n why?
@justinfeng4613
@justinfeng4613 8 жыл бұрын
+Jacob Ramos All four are playing trigger bones in this video. Carl usually plays a straight tenor, though. Trigger horns are generally large bore, and you can get a big, rich sound from them and a solid low register. The trigger is also a convenience. The straight horn gives you a bright sound and it is easier to play higher. In this group, the lead player often uses a straight to play in the higher registers, while the second and third players may choose a trigger bone for its better control in the lower register.

This tune and arrangement suits trombone (unlike some of their other charts). The sound is great, but how about loosing the man-bun? I don't know about other trombone players, but I took enough shit in high school for being a band geek and spent my college years meeting pros in the LA music scene and putting my own big band together that routinely had 50% top studio players in it. All that to be cool and hip. Now, Mr. Beta-Male-Man-Bun comes along and sets the rest of us trombone players back 50 years! Thanks, pal. Do me a favor and stick to audio. Leave the video to alpha trombone players.
@danieljones3928
@danieljones3928 7 жыл бұрын
How about you shut up? He's a better trombone player than you probably ever were, and he can have a man bun if he wants. No one cares that you took shit in high school for being in band. Mr. Beta-Male-Man-Bun...wtf does that even mean?
