Most of the stuff you can “play around with” using this adapter are settings in the MMI.

Yea I still prefer my Ross Tech cable with VCDS, it’s more expensive but I think it’s a better product overall.

I wonder if it's customizable like Torque Pro. I bought a JDM car and had to swap the baud rate, init address, head and protocol on my Bluetooth adapter to make it work. Only problem is if I leave the adapter in when I drive, it seems to through an ECM fault as if it's overwhelming the ECU after about 10 minutes.

Hope you dont have to pay for the adapter, since it's just a ELM327 and costs like 1 dollar ^^ software for diagnositcs you can get for free (atleast in play store for android)

Can you manipulate what lights show up in certain situations? Like in a ford fusion, when you brake, instead of both top and bottom half LEDs showing red, could you make it only the top row etc?

This kind of stuff is awesome. Free tool for Fords called FORscan that I use, completely free just supply your own adapter. I disabled seatbelt stuff, enabled nav instructions on the dash, enabled digital and voice climate controls, enabled key fob operated windows, disabled TPMS (aftermarket wheels), enabled fog lights while high beams are on, and didnt want to pay for sensors and a bunch of other shit as well. A lot of this stuff is how the car shouldve come from the factory and is fun to toy around with

these things are basic and pretty much useless for doing anything even remotely good. they will program a few things into your car like go home lights and a chirp if you activate the alarm but really dont diagnose or clear any faults properly. the makers of them however are happy to charge you for the device and then another $50 a year for you to subscribe to their app

Pulling codes does NOT tell you whats wrong with your car. Personally as a mechanic i love when a customer brings me their car and asks for me to install their oxygen sensor because the code reader they have said thats what wrong. 2 days later they come back and say "you must have done something wrong.....the light came back on". My response is always the same....what part does you magic tool say to change next? Then you have the nice guy who comes in for us to diag it correctly after he threw a few parts at it. But yet he cleared the codes/data before he came up. Smart people.
