We were told to sell house ASAP in Oklahoma, both parties cooperate. He went and enlisted realtor without my knowledge, signed papers to list, show, advertising. A local realtor friend notified me my property was listed he refused to tell me who. She said it's illegal without my signature. My attorney is not getting back to me about whether my legal rights have been violated. I want to sell the house and move on but not if done illegally. I also do not want to be in contempt of judges orders.

This is good advice. I was manipulated, threatened and verbally abused by my ex. I didn’t know I was signing divorce papers because I was out of it. (Divorce in Georgia) Needless to say I didn’t receive any of his retirement pay. Thank you for your video and will definitely share. I was thinking you were talking about me. God bless you.

How do you deal with a lawyer that you hired who is always waiting for the opposition side. An offer was made for settlement and my lawyer said I think they want equity from the house. Never propose the offer. This divorce is going on 3.5 years and appraisal is supposed to come out now after 6 months of not hearing anything?

The ex of a friend is now on his third laywer. The first resigned after the ex asked my fei me to settle down without lawyers. The ex also opened several credit cards using her SSN and leaving open balances in some of them. He denies and says that has paid everything but the thing she doesn't even have all the cards in her hands! But the worst, that is using the own little child to inject on his little mind poisonous thoughts to go against the mom. She was able to scape an abusive marriage, from a psychological narcisist man. He had her isolated in a remote place, pure mountains, not allowing her to even drive a vehicle. And he wants full custody. Yeah, that is how a narcissist acts.

I'm in Fulton County and going through this rn, we're supposed to try doing it uncontested to save money but I don't know if she's gonna get a lawyer behind my back..it sucks because she left when I'm in the middle of trying to find a job so I can't afford an attorney rn..trying to study your videos thanks so much for making them!

Oh my goodness, my ex-husband kept getting me to have my attorney draw up paperwork because he didn’t “know what to do.” That’s alright though, the judge caught on to his mess and made him pay some of my legal fees. People are too much 🤦🏽‍♀️

My wife hired an attorney, but never submitted her mandatory disclosure/affidavits by the due date. Mediation couldn't be scheduled due to this. Her lawyer hasn't responded to any emails in weeks. Unfortunately, a motion to compel had to be filed due to the lack of response. My lawyer also sent a settlement offer to my wife's lawyer during this process, but he said "i'm really busy and i never saw it". There's no kids involved , this should've been a somewhat simple divorce, but it's turning into an unnecessary nightmare. i can't figure out what this woman or her lawyer is doing.

@@shalalala868 Had a trial set for Nov. 2nd, they filed for a continuance three days before the court date.......it's now almost February and i've heard nothing from my attorney. It's like she fell off the face of the Earth. One signature and this could all be over. Nobody can figure this out

My estranged husband won’t get his belongings. He has been gone almost a year, Does not contribute to the house. If I ask him to get his belongings because is cluttering up space he threatens to call the law or say he’s going to have me placed in a mental home. Uses lots of scare tactics. I’m in Dekalb county.

On May 4, 2022 I got a restraining order a four year restraining order on my husband for domestic battery and destruction of property my question is since he cannot be around me or at the residence and I filed for divorce while he was incarcerated for a day would I be able to keep My home in a divorce settlement? Thank you for any advice I could get I would really appreciate it :(

Spouse's attorney said I don't need an attorney - to me translated to "you better get an attorney." I was threatened with my kids - didn't take that garbage either and just signed a 50/50 custody agreement. Her lawyer is running up fees by changing things on her own, lying, tried tying the house to the parenting plan (yes, seriously) and asked for a 'global agreement' from me. I'm a man, btw.... in case that matters.

My goal is that people come to an agreement since this is likely to stick, but at some point some people just need to have their day in court. There are some things that you will compromise on and there are some things that are non-negotiable. Find out what's most important to you and fight for that.

@@DS-mo7vu Agreed! Make sure that the best interest of the child is first. As children get older they can easily manipulate parents who do not have a united from. At least act like you like the other parent in front of the children. Don't give up what you're entitled to. Many people are very emotional and are quick to give up what they are entitled to in a Divorce. They later regret what they gave up. It's okay to be reasonable, but once you give up assets in a divorce, that portion of the decree can not be modified later. Surround yourself with friends and family who are your support system. You'll need them during the "not so great" days. Write down what you really want out of the divorce. Revisit the list often until the divorce is finalized. Some things will be added and some subtracted, but keep focused on the goals you've written, not on how much you want to "stick it" to the spouse. Hope this helps.

@@TerriHerronLaw Honestly the best thing to do when you're up against an attorney and a team of self serving opposition is to just sit back and wait for the circumstances to be heard in court. I went through a mediator who was a retired judge and my ex, her legal representation and her parents were able to completely manipulate that mediator. Now by that time you've already spent a $10K or more day and court would be at least an additional $20k. So, there is much more to think about here when deciding to "come to an agreement" or go to court. As a man, I would recommend sitting back, saving your money and waiting for court 100% of the time. Money management is a thing in this situation as well, which nobody will say.

He keeps trying to convince me that I shouldn’t get an attorney after I told him I’m working on getting one. I just think he’s getting antsy because if I really told EVERYTHING he’d probably be doing good to get supervised visits of our kids. We basically have no assets to even discuss. So originally I thought we could come to an agreement ourselves and when I filed I put what we’re currently doing but he immediately filed a counter petition (which he refused to give me and I only got because I contact a lawyer who found and sent it to me) trying to stop me from being able to leave our current school district which we only recently moved to as a transitional spot because it was the only decent area I could afford and he doesn’t even live in this district, pays no child support, doesn’t take care of any of their financial needs and only sees them sporadically with very short notice.
