Ah ! As usual, we're following the same path. Good to know you're doing well. In the meantime, i left Corsica to live in the French Pyrenees. Bought a house, started a huge garden. Climbing went down the list of priorities, it's been 3 or 4 months without any gym time (but i could find time to get to the crags, so i was able to pretty much maintain my level. Which is interesting, i never thought i could do that without a gym !). Great for the carpentry.

A lot of this really resonates with me Mani as someone who has a young family, works full time and almost just took on a hefty mortgage. Having kids completely changes your perspective on life and everything, I still love climbing but it becomes less important when weighed against everything else and the turmoil the world is in right now. Its a very difficult balancing act. You are a master of under statement when talking about the interesting times we live in 🤣. All the best to you and the family

All of that to say That you ll still inspire people climbing or not keep being yourself that’s well enough ;) Enjoy the process See you Cheers

@@davecopp9356 Funny, my first one was 36 hours, then i started a second one a week after, it was 64 hours. I am used to water fasting, long or short. I found the dry fasting very intense indeed. Proper body anxiety for the first, far more normal for the second. Preferred it in a way to water fasting, it was just so simply what it was. I have not felt inclined to do another one though, but when it gets warm here will do so. I loved it. But it certainly took more focus than water fasting, which I can just continue as normal easily. Good luck with yours!

Really enjoyed the video up to the "getting out of big cities" part. That is really really out there. I 100% understand that getting out of Vienna was the right move for you personally, but you can absolutely not generalize that stance... I'm just coming back from a months-long trip around Europe and while there are many other beautiful places, I've really come to appreciate what Vienna has to offer. In terms of infrastructure, living expenses, urban space etc. Vienna is an objectively phenomenal place to live in right now.

@@alanzhan4436 how am I generalizing? All I was saying that Mani can of course state why he personally wants to get out of the city, but proceeds to make uneducated claims about life in cities and sounds like a prepper at times. My counter argument was that, ESPECIALLY where Mani lives (in Austria), all the larger cities are culturally rich, safe, green, have good air... Austria has beautiful nature, but an Austrian saying "gEt oUt of ThE CitiEs" is absolutely mental. If you know anything about ecological spatial planning, you'd know that unless you clearly state it's just your personal choice, knocking cities for safety / quality of life / sustainability is just, plain and simple, factually inaccurate.

Regarding RENT: I do not agree with your statement that paying rent means throwing money "into thin air" (John Krakauer? ;-)) - As you already said, you "pay to live somewhere". Being able to live somewhere is nice. - By living in a rented space, you also have the advantage to enjoy a certain freedom (very important for me) to just move out of that space and into a completely different space in a completely different place. - You also have the advantage of not being responsible to pay for or work on certain repairs/maintenances etc. - You also don't have to take on a huge "mortgage/debt", which most people have to do when buying their own flat/house. People often forget that there are a lot of positives with just paying rent instead of owning stuff...

I really respect you man and love your content. I have some advice re rent etc. which I hope will be useful. The best way to get out of rent simply is (in your situation) generating passive income and being able to charge more for your time; also outsourcing your own time where possible is key, so making beds will actually take away time you could be using to generate income, e.g. through your KZfaq channel, which could buy you dozens or hundreds of beds in the same amount of time if it were used elsewhere (I understand if it's only a hobby, just illustrating the point). Your youtube channel is one of your key sources of passive and active income, so your avoiding screentime will directly hinder your ability to gain the income you need to get out of rent. So just some fundamentals that I think may need to be re-aligned to get you where you want to be. Sometimes you have to endure some pain to get to freedom faster, and that doesn't have to mean enslaving yourself to a normie 40 hour job, you can do it through your youtube channel and another higher paying skill on the side. Minimise expenses AND increase income wherever possible. Thanks.

@ekbp3zpe760
@ekbp3zpe760 Жыл бұрын
Most injuries don't recover 100% by doing nothing. You need to progressively load the muscles, tendons and ligaments involved to strengthen them as well as prevent repeated injury. Lots of good physio info is free on yt if price is a factor. First try to (self?) diagnose the problem then progress to physio training.
@kaicmma
@kaicmma Жыл бұрын
@@ekbp3zpe760 rest is a very good solution to inflammation and broken bones so i would not say most. Theres not much literature on wrist recovery for climbing. @@kaicmma sure, the RICE solution has its place. But most injuries don't need a year of inactivity to recover (think of athletes' recovery timelines).
