How To Fix A Pit Boss Pellet Grill ErP Error Code Don't Panic, it's a pretty easy fix. If this happens to you, don't panic and don't be afraid to open up your hopper box. My Pit Boss Lexington 500 came up with a ErP error code and it won't work unless it's cleared. Here's how easy it is to resolve the ErP error code if performing a proper shut down doesn't work. If you get a Erp error code it means your pellet grill didn't shut down properly and needs to be turned on and shut down again. That didn't work for me. The next step is to unplug and replug your temp probe connection. And I show you how to do this in this video. If this doesn't work, you may have to replace the RTD temp probe inside your pellet grill. Which is inexpensive and easy to replace.
