this is honestly nearly realistic; that's why i find this game so terrifying. the documentary she was talking about; that's a real psychological phenomenon - the Capgras Delusion. people have delusions that their loved ones have been replaced (with clones or robots or aliens or spies or whatever), and depending on the person, it can lead to violence. it would be fucking terrifying if one of your loved ones just went berserk thinking you were replaced and tried to kill you. ..take care of your mental health, ya'll; for your sake as much as for those around you.

lets be fair, from the plot of the game shes actually a pretty damn good wife. noticing all those little things and realizing something was wrong, then actually managing to discover that the mc was possessed by the player. even if she didnt go about it as well as possible it was still a great effort from her.

I suspected that we are the impostor since we the player took the role of this husband. The wife kept telling these stories how we did this and we did that meaning that she is the real person and our character did not even respond of the times he was with her.

A bit into the crazy act, I think I realized what's going on (im still watching lol). The player doesn't have dialog in which when she talks about memories, the player doesn't remember because you aren't really her husband. Idk if thats obvious but I really love this idea. The whole 4th wall break in games like these. This is such an interesting idea

On my phone, there are microphones on both sides, and when she said "I see you" it literally changed the mic, so it sounded like someone talked at my side. That scared the shit out of me.

I wonder how the "Impostor" is going to free himself in the ending where The wife kills herself. He is basically stuck in that place all tied up lol. What felt more painful is that none of the ending is good for the wife. She just wanted her husband back but either she gets tricked by the player and kills herself or ends up killing the player only to find out he is kinda immortal or gets deceived by the player into believing that her beloved husband is back in control of the body.

So... The password ending is basically you pulling a schoolyard "No you!" card.

The one weird thing for me that I assume was a product of the short time limit was the wife's obvious planning of this ahead of time despite us only then being dropped in. Personally I want it to start OUT normal, we go through a few scenes of just normal couple things, then she starts to get increasingly suspicious. I get that's too drawn out for some, but it's far more immersive and believable. Besides, longer build-up causes the payoff to be stronger assuming it's done right. As it is (Again I assume bc of time limitations) this is going off the narrative that we've been in the husband's body for weeks likely. If the devs really wanna draw it out how about some scenes where we see her in the corner reading books on how to exorcise us?

Damn, I really thought she was having trouble remembering certain things correctly, but was convinced she was right, leading to some sort of paranoia. And at the end, it would be revealed that this basically happens every few weeks or so, with the protagonist already knowing how the "game" goes. Oh well...

i felt a shiver down my spine when she said something felt strange about the player under her breath. because she wasn't giving any visible or vocal signs of an impostor, but rather someone probing an impostor for information to catch them in a lie. but I wasn't sure until she brought up the player's confession. it's strange, but she brought up details only a person who was there would actually remember. so when the player said they didn't, I knew she wasn't the impostor, but the player was.

That second voice really freaked me out because it sounds similar to mine when I'm practicing voice acting.

The scariest part of this is it actually has a real life parallel....it's called Capgras delusion, and it causes someone to be fully convinced someone close to them has been replaced by an impostor. It's even been used as a defense in a murder trials. Horrible and fascinating condition.

"What if we have memory issues?" Yup, as someone who has that and has trouble even remembering what food he likes, this is a valid issue

So here is my weird theory. So I took this as what happens after a dating sim, and 4th wall breaking. So it’s like when we have no text options it’s like we are the hollow husk we are programmed into aka “The Imposter” and the reason our wife is so set on the fact we are inside of a monster is because the lack of responses & silence that isn’t that normal in dating sims. So when we say we love her, one of our few text options it makes her snap back into reality. She’s fully aware that there is someone behind the screen and wants rather than the husk that she’s forced with. I’d really like to think this is what happens after a regular dating sim, just something happening when we the player cannot make choices anymore. Then when we tell her she’s the imposter it’s almost as if she kills herself out of confusion, but takes a leap of faith for the player. Something I found interesting was the whole scar thing, like the reflection we get type of thing maybe that’s what really made her see we are there, I know manly said this at the end but I couldn’t stop thinking it. I think she wants the player beyond the screen. Though my second thought is, what if she was living a normal life with her husband and as soon as we start the game that’s when she’s completely focused on how there is indeed an imposter in her life, the moment we take the role of her lover is when she breaks through it to see how suspicious we are, and that’s why even though she kills us in one ending we wake up and she sobs, the game has to continue. Sorry for my bad grammar I just thought I’d write this down it’s just a genuine theory

This whole situation in basement reminds me of one Torchwood episode, when some woman' boyfrined get killed at night, she is claiming it was some monster but lately its turns ut that she is actually alien agent in human disguise but she dont even know that herself. Moment when Torchwood operatives realizes that and stop treat her as human is unnerving.

Everyone talking about among us but this reminds me about one of my favorite books, "One, no one and one hundred thousand". One day a woman tells his husband that his nose tends slightly to one side, because of that he starts realizing that people don't see him the same way he thought he was and so he will have an identity crisis, one of his realization is that his wife never loved him but loved the image she made of him and so between her and him the impostor existed all along

_I can't believe the waifu fell for that_ She had proof, mentioning the scar, but didn't stick to her guns & became too emotional. It was an interesting premise. The voice acting helped the story quite a bit, the art was cute, but the game jam constraints limited it.
