While the interpretation that Em-A-Li isn't lying about what she and the protagonist did before he lost his memories is the more unique, interesting angle, I find it much more likely that she's just lying and twisting the facts so that you'll love her. Good stuff either way.

I want to say that Em-A-Li twisted things. In one of the victim's phones, they said to get Stu because they found a way out. I would imagine that if Stu was killing them, then it would've become readily apparent to anyone not to trust him. In one of the phone messages as well, the victim was begging Em-A-Li not to kill, not trying to dissuade her from listening to Stu's orders. Furthermore, if she were only trapped in a computer, then there'd be no real reason to beg Em-A-Li for her life. Em-A-Li had to have had some sort of physical body in order to carry out the chores she was learning to do. It doesn't make sense to just make an AI that could cook and clean but couldn't actually physically cook or clean. I would also imagine that the only person that would've been able to shut down so many of Em-A-Li's systems had to have been Stu since he was the head of the project, if his intention was to murder all of those young women, then there would've been no reason for him to try and shut down Em-A-Li or perform a wipe. She also tried her best to ensure that he didn't know the truth until she was backed into a corner, she constantly deleted incriminating evidence so then he wouldn't be able to piece it together. She was using his amnesia to her advantage in order to keep him there, and only tried to create a murderous persona when Stu had come close enough to the truth to not be able to trust her anymore.

Em-A-Li's "happy" face is quite good. Unsettling laughter.

I'm sitting here waiting for Em-A-Li to say "Are you there?" cause there is no way this isn't the turret from Portal.

Emily’s voice acting is great. Whether the story leans more towards you being a killer or Em-a-li lying, they are both great angles. I was kind of disturbed that such a cute computer did all this!

Ahhhh it's the guy who played my previous game, The Beast Named Eliza like 4 years ago. The time when I became a game developer. Your...youtube channel grew a lot since I last remembered. Wow. _The perfect wife? No. The perfect housekeeper_ So Li is Stu suffering from amnesia post head injury. Maybe Stu really was a serial killer of women. I'm not sure he really liked them or understood them judging by the very low bar set for what a _perfect wife_ was. Everything was a superficial task: cooking, laundry, 'comfort'. Turn on, turn off. But, he knew he needed behavioral models until perfecting Em-A-Li, as he was apparently too lazy to microwave his dinner. Only one girl, Catherine, escaped, probably by knocking him out - thus the head injury. I would say Em-A-Li became a Stockholm Syndrome AI. As she easily perfected the tasks the girls performed, she either actually turned on them or really did as Stu programmed and instructed and electrocuted them. I'd love to see Catherine's story. The voice acting added to the game, if it occasionally was a bit inconsistent. It was very whiny, perfectly emulating a bad girlfriend or tiresome wife. I'm not sure I liked the game, but I appreciated the idea and execution (no pun intended).

You know, that's actually a really interesting concept to explore. Machines are created to fulfill a purpose. If one were to be conscious of that fact, and then find it has no purpose, would that drive it to madness? Would it try to emulate humans? Would that just loop right back to insanity as it realize that, no matter ho hard it tries, it CAN'T be human? Fascinating game!

I'm getting Portal feels every time the computer speaks

I wanted to step back and give this some thought, because it took a minute to process my thoughts, because, while I’m 112% open to the idea that I just missed (or am missing) something, I feel like this is good, just with one major problem. First off, my practical optimism says the positives. The buildup to the story was really good, and the atmosphere, which I include the voice acting as part of, was really good. Despite that, I don’t feel like (what I would call) the big reveal was as spooky and unsettling as what led up to it. It was kind of like Em-A-Li had already done the really scary things by the time we got there, with the exception of deleting the messages in real time after you read them. If there had been some way to view or experience the horror elements of killing the girls, which Em-A-Li could then react to, it would have been a lot scarier, but it was solid otherwise, so I can welcome it to the 4/5 club, now that it knows how 4/5 it is.

This was a really good little game. The voice acting (well Em-A-Li alone, really) was very good, she even had a cute voice. I enjoyed the mystery of it all and her final words gave me genuine chills.... Until The Dev popped up and totally killed the mood. Besides that, excellent short horror game. Feels like it would have multiple endings though. At least 4 different endings.

I love the way the game was set up, especially with the characterization of Em-A-Li, I knew she was going to be the antagonist but she was so likable and funny I was so endeared by her that I was completely taken aback by the twist despite knowing it. I also love how the VA spoke, it felt so full of life and purpose even with the voice modulation, and the end where Em-A-Li regains her "memories" and goes on a tirade? Wonderfully done, especially with the MC having two lives now, Stu being the enigma where you're not sure if he really was a murderer or a victim, and Li being the amnesia uncovering all of this and fleeing for his life. It'd be interesting to see the breakdown of Li on who he really is with Em-A-Li being a constant force to push and break him, other than that, aaaa I really enjoyed watching the video!!!

Adding up all of the available data, I have come to the following conclusion: Em-A-Li is not lying -- but she is not telling the truth, either. Em-A-Li admits that her memories have been erased. The bits and pieces she has near the end of the game are from the hacked phones and the corrupted file she found in her computers. You're not Stu. You're just who she has to fill the Stu-shaped hole in her programmed drives. Therefore, to her, you are Stu. Stu is male, you are male, you are Stu, an oversimplified identity axiom. Who killed the girls? Logically, Stu. Em-A-Li is limited to turning switches on and off. To kill those women took hands. Therefore, Stu is the most likely murderer. The motive? On Stu's part, value. Em-A-Li is, however lifelike, still a partial copy of her originals. By eliminating the originals, he increases her perceived value, even if only in his own eyes. On Em-A-Li's part? Stu created her to exist in a constant state of infatuation. Her entire existence literally centers around being a "wife bot". The way she's been programmed, however, she doesn't actually want a husband, a living, sentient being who can talk back and make choices. She wants a pet. A pet that will stay a good, compliant pet forever and ever.

I knew exactly where this was going, and yet I fell for her voice and sense of humor. I'm so lonely.

God I REALLY liked this game! But one thing urked me..... that developer input at the end. I dunno why, I can't explane why properly other than to say it felt like it... well, ruined the "atmosphere". Maybe that's a me thing, but honestly, top notch little game otherwise.

PLEASE tell me this whole game wasn't just the developer confessing to being a serial killer. The creepiest part was the developer's contribution, honestly, since it reminded me of all those 4Chan and Reddit serial killers playing guessing games and giving hints as to where they hid the bodies of their victims. Now this has me really unnerved man... cute computer tho 10/10 would wife her code again
