There's a HUGE line between inspiration and stealing. Even Manny's video openings are a clear imitation of Sailor Moon's transformation scene in the japanese cartoon. Bitching about another company copying your packaging when you've done worse to the work of a lifetime of someone else is the worst kind of lack of morals I've ever seen. Whenever Manny shows proof that he has contacted Ms. Takeuchi and asked for permission to create content and products "inspired"on her work, I'll think whether or not he deserves any kind of simpathy.

And his company denying that they sold the design and that it's exclusively his, but then MR stating that they got the design at a trade fair in early 2019? I'm not really a fan of Manny, but this sounds like his company is being shady, not him.
