I love that you do videos for your products a lot of being a consumer in this industry is buying and then using the product only to find out its not everything you thought it was or not what you thought it was at all and you can't even use it do to not having all the pieces to the puzzle. Keep it up! It'd be awesome to see a video going over your dual lok blast shield some of us aren't allowed access to all of your products in communist states.

Just got an MK2 and I’m moving to A little town about 30mins from you guys . Really enjoying the rifle , really likes 68 & 69 grain stuff . Imma get one of these in ATF jail as soon as I get moved in . Likely gonna need the K version as well for reasons. Wife thinks we’re buying new furniture haha.

Nothing in the works yet, but we never say never. You could always get an Explorr Utility 300 with a Gate-Lok Hub Mount!

@@GriffinArmamentOfficial Thanks for your response! And that’s a good idea! Any big advantages going with the explorr 300+gate lok hub over a 30 SDK? The goal would be to run it on a variety of different platforms and calibers as a “do all” can. Thanks!

Great idea, but with volume diminishing over time will not performance of sound suppression go down? Also, I have a Griffin suppressor with removable baffles. Did you ever start making an end cap wrench? The suppressor itself hasn't had a single issue, but using a nasty piston to change end caps makes me not want to use it as much.

Which suppressor do you have? We have multi-function wrenches compatible with all of our user-serviceable cans. To answer the first question, no, sound suppression will not diminish the more you shoot it. The M4SD-L suppressor, along with a plethora of other Griffin cans, have an approximate service life of 50,000 rounds. This gives long standing durability compared to other cans on the market.

@@GriffinArmamentOfficial I thought I read that internal volume was proportional to sound reduction. If there's enough residue to cause weight gain I'm amazed that it doesn't effect performance since volume will be decreased. Oh well, I'm not an engineer so I guess I just don't understand how it works. I have the original Optimus 9. It came with two end caps and two wrenches, but neither work. It would be great if you have a wrench that fits.

@@Interesting_Placebo Carbon buildup, if anything, will promote sound reduction because of the natural seal it creates. However when heavy buildup occurs, you should clean your suppressor in it's entirety to help extend service life and sound reduction capabilities. Our custom multi-function wrenches are engineered to fit the suppressors they're shipped with. That being said, if it doesn't seem to be fitting, please reach out to our customer service so they can send you the proper tools.

@@GriffinArmamentOfficial I contacted customer service. Unfortunately there still isn't a Griffin Armament wrench available for the endcaps. You have to remove the piston from the booster, run a screwdriver through the slots, and fumble around with it to change the endcaps. I'm really amazed that Griffin Armament engineers haven't been able to design and manufacture a wrench for this. It would make configuring the Optimus 9 so much easier and cleaner.

For which .30 cal suppressor? Currently we have nothing in the works for Gate-LOK or Dual-LOK muzzle devices, but we have some 3/4x24 Taper Mount brakes that are compatible with the SR-25

Which muzzle device do you recommend? Do any perform better for flash reduction vs sound suppression with the suppressor attached?

We have a selection of Gate-LOK flash hiders that will all assist in this category, but the 3 prong flash hider will be your best bet. None of them will have a drastic effect on sound suppression, as they're all tuned to do their jobs with the Gate-LOK suppressor.

@@GriffinArmamentOfficial Ok, I wasn't sure because I know with Surefire the three prong is quieter than the warcomp when suppressed, so wanted to make sure. Thanks for the response.

Awesome. Which is quieter, the M4SDL or the M4SDK? I’m still debating between the two for my first can.

The M4SD-L is quieter, though you'll get more durability out of the M4SD-K. Being that it will have a longer service life and you'll be able to run it harder at higher temperatures!

@@GriffinArmamentOfficial Thanks. The M4SDL is lighter and lower back pressure right? I’ve seen a number of places have the two cans listed as the same weight, but then I also saw some places have the m4sdk listed as a bit heavier.

@@tylergoldstein The M4SD-L is indeed lighter (the L stands for Lightweight), and is better at lowering back pressure and reducing gas to the face
