The Mantis is my hands down favorite marksman rifle, I love the look. I've been honing my skill with the weapon, and the results are phenomenal! Thanks for sharing and keep on doing that thing you do!

Good to hear its been buffed. I've wanted to like the Mantis since I got it all that time ago! However... I still can't see all the extra info when looking through the scope.

I like how Mantis can kill the helmeted adds pretty quickly compared to a rifle with the Determined talent. You'll lose the Determined stack to break their helmet, but with Mantis you can easily land 1-3 body shots while the hyena rusher storms you. Also when you need to shoot at a certain weak-point - you can't do it while Determined is active. Mantis's quick reload speed & firing speed have often saved me too... I miss the Mantis's indicator rings around the heads, though. Was a nice way to learn sniping and a *very clear* indicator of when the dudes' AI-s weren't targeting you (even of the mobs that don't have weak-points), also you knew for certain the mobs were in range for the shot to even register... If the change was an intentional (i.e. a nerf to the (unfair?) advantages the head-circles brought to the gun), then I'd wish for a better indication of mobs' AI not targeting you (e.g. a small, highly visible indicator near/above/on each mob in your scope, but not around their heads), because as is right now the indication is inconsistent, and it's really difficult to understand which 2 of the 3 mobs in your line of sight is not targeting you and which one is, nor is it clear when you suddenly become targeted by that mob (or when the AI loses the interest)... Maybe my concerns have been addressed in the vid too (I'm only 3 minutes in when typing this).

Hey thanks so much for this video. I've been determined sniping with white death and m700, and I feel like I'm not a real sniper. This build makes you feel like TD1 Hunters Faith sniping again.

Love that you are loving in the Mantis! It has always been my go to sniper weapon, and 2k hours of game time I would say 80% or more has been as sniper. One thing about the Mantis/Decoy combo that everyone should know: if your decoy is deployed and you get a headshot kill, you "bank" a fresh decoy. This means you can now destroy your decoy and it will be ready to go again immediately. You do not have to wait for a deployed decoy to expire to take advantage of the symbiosis.

I've been using the Mantis with your Hunter's Fury, 1886 headhunter build. I never liked using snipers in Div 1 or 2 before. You made me love them.

No armor kits, can't see incoming damage as they're is no armor or health bar.

I run a 4 piece hotshot with memento and chainkiller with the mantis and have a model 700 as my backup. its works for me and also have skill efficiency, armor regen and skill core too so it helps out alot.

What about Mantis Memento Decoy? The damage boosts along with a skill tier to slightly boost Decoy health and length and the armor is a little help. Along with a Providence for the headshot 15% or Punch Drunk for 20% Headshot boost plus more damage?

you seem not to lose the headache stacks if you drop the decoy instead of throwing it

Love this build (i've just crafted the unicorn hapsberg backpack, need to sort out the chestpiece though) Any tips on how to actually snipe better though (I too am on console) and my ability severely lags behind my enthusiasm :)

My biggest question regarding in plain sight is how useful the skill is if playing solo. Understandable that the Aggro is on the decoy if using that skill but the decoy skill seems like a wasted skill imo. I rarely use it or have enjoyed it. Regardless of dmg, the mantis only seems enjoyable if the decoy is a favorite skill to use. Otherwise the talent is nonprofitable.

Is the Mantis scope 'graphic/animation' glitched, or been changed? I didn't see a single instance of the red warning circles showing that an NPC was targeting you. "That doesn't make sense to me. But then, you are very small." ;D

Hey tux, I just made this but 230000 dmg shy of you at expertise 12 so no one shot. I don't see how youre getting 1 shots with only 7 more levels

Determined has made snipping WAY TOO easy in The Division 2. Before, you really needed to be accurate to maintain your Headhunter buff. If you missed, that was it. Now, I see ALOT of people snipping but its completely CARRIED by determined. I am not against the concept of the talent in question but it greatly reduces the amount of skill required. If not all of it. Anyways, this build is great! I like the Mantis!

Thnx for the show, now know i need to upgrade my sniper build. The dmg out put of headhunter is dmg based(It says so in the first line of the talent) so your expertise on mantis does mater a lot. Thats why people say nemesis, white dead and Oh Carol are beter higher dmg. Also why not use picaro's holster if you find the right 1 you can have a skill tier that helps your drone and revive hive or the decoy. Also the mantis didnt get a any buff, its your build of Habsburg thats making the dmg

This is a standard sniper build. How is this an upgrade? I felt like I needed to be clear. This is not a criticism, it's a legitimate question.

This must be the 10th sniper build i've tried by now... these sniper builds just do NOT work for me! Sure. In the range, no problem. 1-shooting elites works fine in the shooting range. Out in the open-world on the other hand... Forget it! 1 or 2 get one-shot and then it's over and out because they dont get 1-shot anymore, or they rush up on me, or i get hit by explosions and/or drones/dogs/etc.... 😞
