What a great explanation! That really was a ‘light bulb’ moment for me with regards to my swing tempo. Thanks

Very enlightening, can’t wait to try this at the range when the weather gets warmer to see the ball flight, in the meantime I will do non contact swings indoors with various clubs maintaining the same rate on said clubs. Thanks again Trish!

Great concept. I never thought of that. I remember seeing a my golf instructor on a driving. I couldn’t tell what club he was swinging, They looked all the same.

Trish. I enjoy your videos on the Ernest Jones, Manuel de la Torre swing. Can you give me a few names of some of the current male professionals that play this way. thanks.

Hi... thanks for your comment.... a lot of professionals today are beginning to realize the wisdom of Manuel de la Torre and Ernest Jones.... however, unfortunately not many use the "concept" per se

Hi Trish, totally agree with the physics what drill would you recommend to grove this in. I work with my driver moving one shot at a time to my 60 deg as the expectantly is shorter you can maintain the rhythm

Hi there.… Thank you so much for your question. The tennis ball on a string is a fabulous drill for this

Here's how I understand it: The angular velocity (of the entire club) is the same (tempo), but the linear velocity of the club head is faster when it is further from the center of the circle. It may take me a long time to unlearn my old habits in hitting the big stick. The short stuff is coming along nicely but the full swing is still a bit of a challenge. I need more quality time with my 815 specialty-TBOS to say the least. Cheers! (tennis ball onna string!)

Trish… do you have “dead hands” throughout your swing? Love your videos
@815TeeTimeInc

Thank you so much. I’m not exactly sure what you mean by that question. Could you clarify?
@MrDtempest
@MrDtempest Жыл бұрын
@@815TeeTimeInc sure… when I chip and pitch, I don’t use my hands at all in the downswing. They are completely passive. I’ve found it helps my consistency and because the swing for short shots is much slower, I find it easy to let me hands be passive. For the full swing, I’m not so sure.
@815TeeTimeInc
@815TeeTimeInc Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the clarification.… Your hands have nothing to do in the forward swing in golf, except for hold onto the club. It is exactly the same for short swings as it is for full swings. Once you let go of the idea of having to help the golf club with your hands on the forward to me. And realize that they had simply hold onto the club. Lightbulbs will go off in your head and it will be awesome.

Hi, I am curious if you can please clarify some of MDLT's teachings.( Now please correct me if I am wrong) He frequently mentioned to keep a mental image of the club TO the target. Did he mean the club's DIRECTION to the target? I notice that I swing better when I don't focus on swinging the club to the target, but rather swing TO the FINISH (I just trust my alignment to bring the ball in the correct direction--straight to the target). In other words, if I focus on swinging the club to the target (toe up and shaft pointing to target at the forward swing), my swing gets disrupted and my shots are of poorer quality. When I swing to the finish, the ball flight is better but I sometimes hit a pull. Any insights?

You know.… I struggled with this very thing for quite some time. I, like you, would rather focus on the club swinging to the finish in the direction of the target. So, keep it up, I think you’ll be fine

Manuel only ment you only swing the golf to the target for a fraction of a second you do not change swing to the finish

But the hands move locations so how could the golf swing be similar to the tennis ball swinging from a fixed point example? I have never grasped how the tennis ball swinging is similar or the same as a golf swing?

The string represents the golf shaft, and the tennis ball represents the clubhead
