Sometimes it sounds more Irish and other times more Scottish. Occasionally even a little Welsh sounding. I wonder if it has words from Welsh added to the basic Gaelic background.

The transition from Manx Brythonic to Old Irish (or Manx Gaelic) may have been gradual and appears to have occurred after speakers of Primitive Irish settled on the Isle of Man, in large numbers, from about the 5th century AD. Their influence is evident in a change of language in Ogham inscriptions on Man

As I understand it, there are no recordings native speakers of Leinster Irish (that I am aware of). Does anyone know if Leinster Irish sounded like this or was some sort of halfway point between this and, say, Connacht Irish? I believe that scientists are able to do a pretty good approximation of what extinct dialects/versions of German, etc. sounded like a very long time ago. Has anyone tried something similar with Leinster Irish? Are there any recordings of what it might have sounded like?
