it is so beautiful and even if outnumbered by colonists etc, this language is still alive and medieval times are over, repressions have stopped and, even though it's easier and kind of more practical to speak English, every nation should learn, speak and respect the indigenous language(s) of lands where they live. Greetings from Latvia, EU.

For all the idiots in the comments, try actually studying languages before arrogantly comments your "views." I'll begin by writing hiragana (Japanese alphabet) comparison of words. I bet none of you know of Proffessor Naoko Yui is. If you have researched, your would know old Japanese and Austronesian are cousin languages which both originated from the same language family “austro- japonic” or “old austronesian”. The Jomon Japanese were Austronesian themselves, that's why they speak an AUSTRONESIAN language. Don't learn modern Japanese and claim you know about the entire language and archaic versions of it.
