I see alot of people that complain about pricing on alot of cars , but really the prices are right in the range of what the market is bringing in condition as shown . If all these cars were perfect or even close to perfect the prices would be lots more and pretty much out of alot of peoples budgets . Alot of people like to buy cars that need work so they can afford the car and work on them on there own . Let's also not forget most of these cars can be financed which also helps both the seller and many buyers .

The roof behind the t-top being loose is a common problem with the t-top cars. My 86 t-top has the exact same problem. Normally it’s caused by the vibration from being driven over the years and the aluminum rivets let go. The usual fix would be drill the old rivers out and replace them with new ones

In my personal opinion the thing I love the best about the foxbody Mustang is that the only reason they lack power is because of the government regulations at the time and if you tune it right or rebuild and retune you can easily gain way more power and to me that is just the best part of the experience and the reason I watch engine power

I loved this Test Drive! Sharp looking Fox Body with that wheel/ tire combo. I enjoyed taking the scenic route, I'm unfamiliar with the Tennessee landscapes.

In 1986 I worked with my uncle in Pyles-Tyson Ford body shop. Every other car we worked on was a mustang GT

I had an 86 GT back in the day. Bought it in 88, abused the engine and tranny but never had a breakdown. Love to have another.

In 1987 mustang came out with the 5.0 with fuel injection. 225 hp. The 86 has a 210 hp 5.0

Actually the 1986 5 liter Mustangs were rated at 200hp. I own a 1986 5.0 lx sedan.

the transmission is a BW T5, i have rebuilt too many to remember over the decades. they also put them in Camaros, Pontiac firebirds, S10 trucks, and even a small amount in Nissan 300ZX, it was used a lot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

That is not a bad fox at all. I always liked the 4 eyes look of the Foxes, and that one is pretty nice. Exhaust leaks and other little issues are easy fixes. Would be a great car for someone looking for a Fox. I would love to have a Fox, but lol I have to many now! 65, 68, and a 2021 Shelby just to many lol

A friend of mine had a 1986 Capri RS. Very fast car. I loved the front end, but the bubble hatch back window was a little weird to me. It had the Mercury cat logo on the steering wheel & in the center caps of the ten hole aluminium rims. The 5.0 fuel injected Capris are rare cars, as they were the last that Mercury made.

@@b17fan52 I had an exterior aluminum sun shield placed on the rear of mine. It kinda of hid the bubble. The positive side is you could store more items for the long weekends.

Whoever wants it a nice set of longtubes on this bad boy with new gaskets... slapping noise fixed. Plus it will sound better, run even better, and of course problem solved. A really nice foxbody! T-tops are very rare in these cars. Really black car with that interior plus T-tops doesn't get much better for a 1986, first year of EFI, last year of the 4eye. This is a collector piece for any hotrod fan.

yes it is the gasket leaking not the motor ticking.

Actually 15 K would get you a loaded SVO. You could get a loaded GT convertible for 13750. GT hatchbacks were 12500. The steal was the LX Sedan 5.0. Mine window stickered for 10,250. 1w

Nope - stock was 200hp for 1986. Torque was higher than the 85's though.

Yes it did have plastic trim to cover the hatches. The sedans did not have trim under the trunk lid.

I have 1986 LX 5.0 maybe I should sell if there bring this money.... btw that's 83/84 turbo GT 4 cylinder hood on that. The hood is rare a shit.. not correct for that car but nice either way.
