I absolutely love the musical aspect you've designed in here. This needs to be in childrens' homes!
@markcalabretta54579 жыл бұрын
What I like most about MM1, compared to the later ones, is the sound it makes. The xylophone is a major part of that, but the whole thing seems to be very well balanced and musical in a machine-like way. Fabulous!

This machine was the reason I subscribed to you in the firstplace... it's on my todo list to build a marble pump like this.

Matthias Wandel, a polymath if there ever was one. Carpentry, engineering, mathematics, music, computer programming, film editing. You name it. Wow.
@matthiaswandel14 жыл бұрын
Actually, that machine has made over $2000 to date through KZfaq ad revenue from the other video.

there are CNC machines specifically made for solid wood, I know there is some fine adjustment that machines can do, that is why I suggested making kits, but is your call man. I admire your skills, keep this type of things coming ;)

Oh, and if you want to continue this argument, please argue with somebody else. If you are so convinced it can be done, stop arguing and just do it. If you want to make a point, prove it!

Matthias, how high do you think the marble stack could go before the motor / pump struggled?

@kikilosabeyno11 жыл бұрын
you can really make some serious money with this, all you need is to lay out the designs and find a good CNC wood laser cutter. You can then do some kits and sell them by ebay or in your own Website. never underestimate the power of mass production. And seriously Sir, you can make a ton of money with your inventions.

The elevator is a marble machine and elevators can be xylophone for marbles for lift and elevator is used by marbles.
@matthiaswandel11 жыл бұрын
CNC could take 30% of the work and replace it with one third as much. And there'd be bigger bills to pay, and higher material costs (can't easily put solid wood in a CNC machine). You have no idea how much non-machine work goes into these things.

Problem with the pump idea is you always got 20-25 marbles or more in the up side. Wasted IMHO. I like the corkscrew if one an get it working right or the swinging arm. Interesting video thanks .

Well, step1 would be to stop all work on the website. Because to justify a $100,000k machine, I'd have to drop all other pursuits. And then I'd most likely still be losing money. Note the lack of other players in that space. There's a reason for that.

@mikemurko13 жыл бұрын
@Matthiaswandel Why don't you spend a bit longer than a week ... put some more detailing on it ... paint, designs, etc. and make them into art pieces/antique type toys. You could sell them for probably something like $600-1000 with more polish. As it is - it's wonderful though! :) Get some people to help and maybe mechanize some of the designs of parts that are used repeatedly and you could increase the turnaround too.
@matthiaswandel14 жыл бұрын
No. It doesn't make sense spending a week building something that people think is worth maybe $150.
