It was Simon who chose the song BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and listen to what Simon said. The three judges were pissed. Because of the backlash, Simon gave MARCELITO money as his prize.

Marcelito fended for himself since he was 7 years old. His mother abandoned him. He lived on the street sold eggs and helped carry heavy things for the construction company. He lived by tending chickens. He said during the night if he get scared he sang. He has no voice lessons.

He was by himself on the streets. The mother left Marcelito - the others went with the mother. Strange what happened but that is the way it was.

Born in poverty and risen to stardom but remains humble and true to his christian faith and family. The story of his sad childhood is very inspirational. Despite his difficulties in life, he has matured into a kind-hearted person without any trace of bitterness and pain in him. Marcelito's brilliance in singing is an astonishment to all. It's always a surprise everytime he sings. No formal training just plain gifted. He is in a league all by himself. No one can touch this guy. Marcelito Pomoy is a once in a lifetime talent. Please check out his rendition of POWER OF LOVE at wish 107.5. Also, check out his duet with Morissette Amon singing SECRET LOVE SONG at wish awards night. Another mind-blowing performances.

It is humbling in so many ways

I mean....really. What can you say about Marcelito? They guy is simply fantastic. We've discussed his unique abilities previously, so no need to go over them all again, but they are all here on full display. The man has a gift and he loves sharing it. Based on interviews of Marcelito prior to and after the contest, it seems that what he really wanted to sing in the semi-finals was the song 'I Believe' as sung by the Il Divo, a very famous multi-national cross-over vocal group which originated in your country......which has a baritone, two tenors and a pop singer.It was the AGT people that chose the Con Partiro. Singing 'I Believe" instead of Con Partiro could have elicited greater awe factor from the public.

Just to let you know Marcelito is in his mid thirties, that was his wife with him, he also has a daughter. He sings You raise me up in the studio but only in his male voice if you would like to react to that.

The woman is his wife and America the Champions is a rigged shoe. It’s pre recorded and Simon wasn’t even there for all the performances. The next for the next performance is Beauty and the Beast and my favorite, you should check it out.

Only Marcelito was abandoned by his mother while his father was in prison. As for AGT, Simon insisted Marcelito sing Beauty and the Beast then had the nerve to criticize him for singing it! Marcelito was not happy with Simon had made it known to the media. That's probably why Simon didn't want Marcelito to win despite the fact he was very popular with the public.
