Excellent!!! I was lucky enough to see them at the Budweiser Gardens in Ontario on the end of September 2018. I had been in the hospital recuperating from being ill with a nasty virus just the day before, and it was both a relief and a joy to be able to see them after . They were so good, it was a wonderful gift to see them live after loving them since the early 1980's. :-)

Well of course Mel is the SM... but I find that this formula gives a very rootsy soulfull side, very interesting, "simple" and always authentic to their music ... I'd really like to see them like that... like good wines , what a wonderful band .... many many thanx marcelonic1

Well this is awesome! I'd absolutely love to see Simple Minds live. They've always had such a great connection with the audience. Jim Kerr is such an awesome front man, so much energy and charisma coming from him. I also love how Charlie and Ged periodically play on different ends of the stage so the crowd can see each of them equally.

WOW that was awesome. I grew up with Simple Minds in the 80s listening to them on CFNY in Toronto and have loved the music since then. Great to see they still got it and sound fantastic ......................

Thank you for uploading this great concert. Very nice also that it is right up front. I really hope that this year the concerts will take place and not be postponed again because of Corona. I have tickets for Simple Minds next month in Germany. As far as concerts are concerned, unfortunately, we have only KZfaq and concert DVD's. Therefore, I am pleased to have found this concert with you. I wish you a nice day Greetings from germany .

Saw them in Chicago in '18. Great show. Wish I paid for closer tickets though - have a feeling it was a once in a lifetime thing. Hope they tour the U.S. again or maybe we'll see them in Europe some day! Thanks for sharing this.

They deserve bigger audiences tbh. Hopefully their recently postponed tour will be rescheduled, and we Scots can welcome them home to a sold-out, 14,000 seater Hydro Arena in Glasgow. Sometime. Maybe Summertime? ;)

I think, for such a underrated band, they played an very serious and strong set. Awesome. Jim kerr is such a bunch of energy and theres definitly some power in that 60-year-old ass. More than some young bloke in they early 20s can dream of nowadays. Sadly. But i have to admit that his pants are definitly a little to tight imho.

Wow, thanks for posting this! I was really looking forward to seeing this show but something came up at the last minute and I couldn't make it. One question, were you unable to get the beginning of the second set? Seems like there's a bit missing compared to the setlist I saw posted elsewhere.

mkultra25 yeap great concert and I just realized I didn’t add two songs from the Second set, for some reason they didn’t make it to the edited file . I have both songs and I agree the first (instrumental) is particularly good. I think I will upload both separately an send you the link

@@marcelonic1 That would be great. The instrumental is "Theme for Great Cities", one of their best songs IMO, from 1981's Sister Feelings Call. Frank de Heer iPhone 7 and a zoom iq 7 stereo mic. This time I was on the first row. The iPhone is great when the light is right.... when not enough or too much smoke it’s a disaster.... cheers

Really good band But it’s hard because there huge in Europe But in America there known for a few songs Sadly if billy idol didn’t pass on thr breakfast club soundtrack almost no one in America would have heard about them They need to a little better job of playing to American crowds. Just saying They have sold 60 million in Europe 1 million in America let’s be honest how many avg concert goers I’m America have heard any songs other then don’t forget about me & alive & kicking

And that's exactly what ticks me off about bands like this (especially from the 80's) when it comes to here in America. They had their one or two hits here and then they were forgotten about, a lot less people bothered to follow them later on in the years and enjoy their other songs and there were PLENTY of other amazing songs from Simple Minds and so many others! Europe seems to be a lot more loyal to bands like this, the interest in them never seems to go away overseas like it does in the US. It's a real shame because that keeps great older bands from touring here in America, which means I'll never get to see them! 😔

1. Thx for posting. 2. No SM-soul in this upload though. Been a SM-fan from 80's (having all their 80's albums and seen them many times since), but this gig shows nothing of what I love SM for. Didn't see this tour and I don 't regret. Have ticks for next year, but am in doubt now. And that keys player should be behind the curtains: has got nothing to do in front of Jim, pretending to play his 12 strings. Waterfront used to set the place in fire, but this recording ... :-/. Disapointed...
