I like that you are including spice levels in your reviews. It would be great if you did a video describing how those ratings are determined.

Ioveeee that you talk about historicals so much. ( its my comfort genre). Agreed on spring bride being the weakest chance sisters book.

Oh this is good to know! I'm glad to hear that it's the weakest, as it'll help me gauge my expectations for the rest of the series! Thanks so much! I love historicals too. I need to read more of them! 🥳

Love the shirt and the new review format with the spice level and where to find it. Thanks to that I found out that all (or quite a lot) of Ruby Dixon's books are on hoopla. I don't know if I will ever be ready for alien romance but at least I know I can check it out for free. 👍 My March reading was my best one this year! My two favourites were historical romance Christ Caldwell's "The Diamond and the Duke" and cozy mystery Carlene O'Conner's "Murder in an Irish Village".
@mamaneedstoreadromance4 ай бұрын
Oh thank you so much! I had no idea there was so much on Hoopla until recently, LOL. Yes, it'll be nice knowing you didn't have to pay for a subgenre if it's not your cup of tea. I'm DYING to read a Christi Caldwell. You're making me want to pick up a cozy mystery again. It's been too long. Thanks for your lovely comment! Have a great week! 😃
@megansbooknook5194 ай бұрын
@@mamaneedstoreadromance Oh you must read Christi Caldwell! I recommend starting with her newest current series All the Duke's Sins (which is what the book I read is from) but start with the prequel novella "It Had to be the Duke". Christi is also a mom with a child that has special needs. I hope you have a great week too! :)

Love your reviews❤ but now I’m Also curious about your spice rating, how you grade them😊. I’m old-school and grew up reading my mother’s bodice rippers, and have high expectations for romance and love scenes. However there seems to be a discrepancy over quantity of sex scenes and quality of sex scenes, as far as I’m concerned, for my enjoyment (and can I just insert an apology for the following musings on sex scenes… this girl wants to know😂). There can be a lot of sex, but it doesn’t move me because it lacks emotional depth. Or there can be a slow build with one or two incredible written sex scenes later in the book that move me physically. I still regard both as spicy, but would the second option be medium or still spicy🤷🏼♀️? And how much I rate both of these examples is how well the author translates intimacy onto the page with feelings and depth. But on the other hand, I class closed door as still no spice, but depending on mood it can be romantic (but not particularly fulfilling). But then if it has sensual foreplay, Is that considered as mild? Or does mild spice still have sex on the page, but very little detail? Sometimes there is sensual foreplay and then as soon as he thrusts his 🍆 it blanks to the next moment of time when they’re post-coital - that is closed door as far as I’m concerned. But mileage varies from reader to reader for any of these musings😂
