It's no wonder I enjoy returning to this popular covered food market in my hometown, Toulouse. Inaugurated in 1892, its impressive steel and glass structure was modeled after the former Paris central food market, les Halles.
Follow me as I explore the aisles of this typically bustling market - on a peaceful morning before crowds arrive. If you like food, French food in particular, I give you a fair warning: You might drool soon.

We visited this marché last summer and found it just amazing. Then we had lunch at one of the restaurants upstairs. What a fun visit!

Bonjour. I just realized the video was confusing to viewers because I did not mention it was filmed in the fall of 2018. I have just updated the description.

I am just curious; here in NY (and many other states) you are required to wear face coverings in public (while also social distancing) and gloves are suggested. Is that not he same in France? They seem to have alot of meat there. We are also being told here to expect a meat shortage of about 40% less. I don't blame France about the filming. I do not like to be filmed at all, let alone by strangers.

We are not yet required to wear face masks in public. It's only suggested. Be advised this video was filmed in the fall of 2018. This explains that.

@@francewithvero Oh Thank you. Now I understand. I am however still envying all the poultry and fish. It looked so fresh and delicious.
